Do different DOTS stack?

I know that 3 poison DOTS won't stack they will just reset the timer.

But will poison stack with burning? or diseased? or forsaken?

Yes yes and yes. Poisons will also stack with poisons, just harder to notice at lower level poisons. All gems stack, except the effects of Auras.

And what I mean by the effects of Auras is if you have one that Provides 10 White resist, and another that has 10 White Resist and 10 Green Resist (just examples) you will end up with a total of 10 white resist and 10 green resist.

if 3 DoT gems dont stack. then why have i used 3 whites, and it goes, 1 1 2 2 1 3 2 and so on. but there is definantly a 3 in there. and no, its not while i am attacking. (accidently forgot to click autohit at the time)

Howdy Cole, prolly cause you are doing slightly under 1 damage a tick with all three combined, and when the fractions add up ya get an extra damage point in there somewhere...

On a side note, I might not be making much sense tonight, I feel kind of out of it...lack of sleep FTW!

I'm pretty sure that even if there is a limit to stacking the same DoT, it is 5 or more - I casted 4 or 5 forsakens in a row and ended up with doing 4 4 4 4 for a while

And then ya get poisons, which are over an even longer period, could pull a bunch of them in the time it expires.

The answer to this has already been given.

What happens when you have a poison and use another poison, the timer will reset and the remaining damage will add up to the new damage.

So if you have 10 damage left do to with the current dot, and cast a new 15 damage dot that takes 45 seconds to deal that damage, you'll do 10+15 = 25 damage over 45 seconds.

What I do not know is if you use a new Poison that has a "shorter" duration than the remaining duration of the current Poison, if the final duration will be the old one or the new one.

The Black poison lasts 25 seconds, I think, and the Green one lasts 40 seconds.
So I don't know what happens if you cast the Black 5 seconds after the Green.
Will you deal the total damage over the next 25 (black) or 35 (40-5) seconds?

Either way, the damage always stacks. It just spreads, as well.
