Default Arena Lag

Any one else get really bad lag in the arena?

After a fight I watch numbers still scrolling up my screen for about 2-3 minutes =/

Also Sometimes I'll be pulled into another arena immediately, the Autoattack button shows it's ticked. if you click it while the timer counts down it says "battle has not begun blah blah". So when the timer counts of i untick it then tick it again and lag so bad i cant tell if I'm hitting or not.

It's ofc worse when i have more char logged, but it happens just as frequently whether i run one instance or three.

It sounds like your computer can't keep up. We might be able to do some adjustments to the way it determines when to display fight numbers in order to help though. Click start, right click my computers and click properties and let us know your computer stats to confirm.

I probably have the same exact "Slow Computer" problem as Melus, but I'm just curious as to why in a 3vs3 duel I have no lag, no freezing whatsoever. Yet, in a 3vs3 arena fight I freeze, lag, damage numbers come up for 2 minutes after the fights are over.

Whats the difference, besides the telaportation?

Just because I want to make people jealous and show off my beast of a computer I'll post it's stats, don't be mad.. you *might* get one this awesome someday:

Windows XP
Dell Dimension DIM2400
Intel[R]
Celeron[R] CPU 2.60GHz
2.59GHz, 256 MB of RAM.

i get the same problem. and i assumed it was my computer, but i get the lag even when grouped with someone in the same mob fight as me.

as soon as 2 or more people are fighting the same person/mob for me the numbers will continue to appear for minutes after the battle is over, yet when i solo a mob everything works fine.

computer stats (same as relic, dont be jealous)

Intel(R)
Celeron
(R) CPU 2.60GHz
2.59, 752MB of Ram

runnning:

Microsfot Windows XP
Professional
Version 2008
Service Pack 3

When you say you are having numbers come up for minutes after the fight is is continual numbers over a period of minutes or do they all of a sudden come up after a few minutes? We need to know of its an issue of us rate limiting the delay in between number displays or an issue with computer freezes due to being overloaded with processing.

It appears as though the damage numbers back up, and even after you win or lose the fight the numbers continue to flow through as if the fight was still going.
To be completely realistic, in my case, the numbers only flow for 30 seconds after the fight ends, then stops.

The problem I see here is that the numbers begin to fall behind in the beginning of the fights, because after I do something such as cast an instant heal on a friendly the Green Colored "218" doesn't appear for 3-6 seconds on my friendly. (But it appears as though the heal does instantly heal his health bar, only the digits are delayed)

Another similar case is like when you all of a sudden become targeted, and your HP bars is already 1/4th empty before you begin to see the actual damage numbers appear above your avatar icon.
It's actually quite hard to play Arena while trying to predict next actions and think ahead of time, it has been doing this since the date of implementation to current in my case.

Same. It's like a delay of the numbers. Same with the class ability graphics. I'll click it and the ability goes off but the graphic wont pop for a good 30 or so seconds afterwards.

Also i have no clue if it is my laptop or what but after a while i get a pop up that says Shockwave Flash Plug-In has crashed. After that I dont have a problem with the numbers delaying as much.

Default Zone & Boss Update Lag

Hi there,

It's not just the Arena that lags I guess. I observed that it also happens for every 1st battle when entering a new zone (especially in groups), as well as for boss encounters. I'm playing from a laptop with AMD Turion 64 processor, 0.79 to 1.79 GHz and 384 MB RAM (I found out that the speed stepping is a laptop thingy, so let's just assume 0.79 GHz as base line); updated to v1.238 already, but still having the same problem (died twice due to perma-freeze and wasted 3500g in shop due to a dragging glitch already).

Noteworthable is that it usually only happens when a new zone (and town/shop/church) is entered. So I supposed it has got something to do with variables update. Could it even be the boss encounter soundtrack (if it's not programmed to cache on client's comp)?

I would suggest that, at least for battles, there be a "variables update/loading" sequence to suspend the actual combat before it would start running smoothly - that is assuming (non-graphics-rendering) data influx is the problem.

Rgds,
Eve.

Well i dont have numbers scrolling after battle anymore. But now it's just stuttering. Everything is choppy and hard to pull gems without getting the cannot send command at this time. It's not happening to me during mob fights only duels/arena.

We were able to push the numbers out at near appropriate times despite CPU's not really being able to keep up but it won't make your computer any faster. Unfortunately java just doesnt support the real remedy which would be better graphics acceleration that could make more use of your video cards but for all we know your video cards suck too
You really want at bare minimum a 3.0ghz single core of 2.0ghz dual core with a gig of ram, 2 gigs if using Vista or Windows7
www.NewEgg.com

If you only have 384megs of RAM then rest assured the game will never run quite right since you'll end up using hard drive space as RAM (swapping).

This begs the question what kind of computers do you think most people playing Free Browser Games play them on?
