Also, will your opponents be announced ahead of time?

this is a must for any strategy to take place please make it so that 5 minutes before the battle your opponents are known so that people would have time to change suits redist stats w/e you need to do to get ready

As much as I like strategy, like you said Relic, surprises are a LOT more fun. Besides, a well prepared team should be able to handle anything.

Strategy plays an even more integral role when you don't know who your opponent(s) will be, even more so than having a set strategy for each person/team you fight. Think about it.

actually not really imo if you just build to be able to beat anyone w/o changing thats not strategy...if you have a specific build/equip set/gem pouch for each build type then you have to have put thought into your build and have strategized to beat each other build...if you dont know what your opponent will be built like then its just dumb luck wether you win or not

This may sound out of it, but since the arena concept is kinda taken from wow, why don't we do it the same. No early notification whatsoever.
If you are really good, you should be able to alt+tab into top list, ctrl + f, and find out what class and exp total ur opponents have within the first 5-10 seconds of the fight.
On the other hand, even if you are given 5 mins, it won't matter anyway. Say, you saw the opposing team is kyron, sanlucifer, and neo, and you want to jew them over by triple shield and anti-caster gem. What would happen, if they all go into the fight as 3 whippers.
Just do surprise.

then we get an advanced game of rock, paper, scissors with caster, anti caster and everything else
for that reason knowing your opponents might not work since both sides can change there build it might just end up like that. besides which i imagine most people have anti caster gems in there pvp pouch any how and since people wont need to worry about taunt gems it should open a lot of spaces for some people to get a nice mix of gems in

possible bug/problem here:
"In addition to gaining arena rating individuals receive an arena token every time they win a match. Arena tokens will be used to purchase tempers, a new type of item upgrade that adds additional health bonuses to weapons and armor. Higher grade tempers will require minimum arena ratings in order to purchase and all will be soulbound upon purchase"
soulbounding the tempers will just lead to people buying and selling by just trading the equipment they want tempered. which is clearly going to lead to scams and problems. in which case the tempers should either be freely able to trade or it should be made that items that have been tempered should be soulbound as well

Agreed, it's only another gold sink, one very much worth the while imo.
Best PvP feature if Glitchless pulls this off.

By the way, any news on what time the arena will be, Jeff/Glitchless? I have an examination on that night so any heads up would be nice

Does this include all Blind procs, (ie the Trader's CA), or just the archery skill?

The patch buffed all blind effects.
There is no ETA on the actual time of the patch. Just sometime Wednesday.
