The end of the dual wielder
Premise:
Any capped player succesful at defeating higher level mobs will tell you one thing about the role of the melee'r in a group, "they absolutely need a shield".
Problem:
All of the build types have a place in the group defeating higher level enemies except for the dual wielder: - Casters can deal huge huge amounts of damage
- Shield users are protected and can deflect high level damage back at the enemy AS WELL AS use their shield as a weapon
- Even to a degree a 2H might mirror enough high damage to end the fight quickly enough to avoid the full potential of damage an enemy is capable of (likened to the caster)
But alas the dual wielder definately does not contribute enough significant damage to end the fight quickly enough nor wear the necessary protection to withstand the onslaught of a higher level mob.
Solution:
BUFF dual parry and make it highly highly highly dependant on ones combined Dex and Agi; like parry is but OP this skill and make the necessary Dex and Agi extreme.
I am not going to state a % because ... well ... how about this.. for a hypothetical: Every point in this skill provides upto an additional .50% chance to parry melee attacks when dual wielding. (based upon a combined 1300 Dex and Agi)

The point I see being made here is very obvious, straight-forward & truthfully existent.
Nodiatis has seemingly followed the cookie-cutter conception that the person tanking (always the melee'er) will always be wearing a shield; effectively conforming to the stereotype. When, in reality, many more options could be made easily accessible and that is what needs to be done to break the mold.

when i picture a tank in a fight i picture a person using a shield for the sole purpose shields defend against damage more....saying a person built for maximum DPS (DWers) should be able to tank just as well as a person built to tank (shield users) is just ...to put it plainly...stupid

i might just add that fantasy barbarians and real life Viking Berserker went to fight without shield (or even armor, but that's another story)., as well as Eastern weaponmasters... or even D'Artagnan himself.
(sometimes DUR and AGI can compensate for the lack of AC... i wish this game could be like this)

The Viking Beserk wore chainmail, that was about it I think.
Dual parry could use a buff since with Strikethrough theres only a 25% (10% with 2H weapons) of causing a parry and with AGI so low on the importance list for most of the capped players. The chance for parry end game is more than likely less than 15% (completely nullifying it with 100 Strikethrough.)

Stop talking down us little shield users . There are only like 5 guardians in the of lvl 50+ (that still play)!
Didnt see you read description? Guardian takes to the shield as soon as possible That is our only happiness!
I demand more blocking against those overpowered meleessss

I wasn't down talking shield userzzzz. Mainly asking for a parry buff.
Btw 1300 combined dex and agi is a bit, um, much?

to my knowledge, Berserk meant something like "bear skin", and that was because they entered in combat wearing a bear or a wolf skin to scare enemies
anyway, being myself a DW, i'm not against a little parry buff

Having 1,300 combined for a skill isn't effective in the least. Seeing as how stats "tapper off". It would probaly have the same effect as if you had 1,100 or 1,000.

Bringing back an old thread. The problem with making a dex+agi requirement makes it so this buff would only benefit slashers and piercers while leaving crushers out in the cold. Perhaps that is why this idea was never even considered by jeff

and once again i ask the question:
name only one melee "DAMAGE DEALER" in all the teams that killed an end-game bosses?
just one name please!
no one! thank you.
why high damage ability should only be done one class is just beyond me.
it doesnt make any sense and just a mistake.
i wish Glitchless fix this issue "professionally"!
P.S: just to be clear, a "melee damage dealer" is NOT a tank with a shield.

While I believe the 2h buff was too strong and left dw in the dust, the problem with making dw tanks is you're screwing real tanks which are already becoming really really rare.

I dont think DW should be anything even close to a "tank",when I went DW it was with the intent to trade defense for massive damage...sadly I traded Defense for severely mediocre damage, but the point remains.

I agree, Duel Wield is trading AC and defense for more damage. Making it a tank is ridiculous, you have no shield how can you block damage except with a sheidl? ( dont argue u get my point)
Not many people like agility, they all seem to spam DUR
Can anyone, just out of curiosity, make an account that uses fists only? and train agility?

Fists is a fail weapon type... and the commonly held belief that Agi improves fist dmg is false... back in the day when i has an Agi build...600+ Agi...my friend Nemesiss and I dueled to test......both of us took off pets and wepons...and eventaully after about 6 mins...all armor...fight lasted about 25 mins b4 we quit.... gem play was allowed.... long story short... our sucky regen out did our even ****tier dmg.....
