darken or vignette item background images: graphic change or ui option

i agree the silks were hard to see differance without mouse-over but the black dosnt do them any justace and just looks like afterthought (tacky) please consider the blue viggnetted background (choice B of the example) as i think that better suits the purpose of fitting into the game as well as makes easier to see, also is it just me or where there some backgrounds that got lightened like tools i can hardly see now and bows too whats with that? they were fine before werent they?
just take a look in a store and tell me that the black dosnt just clash with the rest of the whole game and interface, looks very un-professional.

Updated my sig so you can see the difference in what I suggested and what was implemented. I applaud the receptiveness to change, but unfortunately it'd take some time/resources to make the change.

Bonus: mocked up some new tool icons that still use the existing graphics. I am no illustrator and I think the artwork is pretty impressive and consistent, so I wouldn't touch that... Of course, these sort of icons would take time to create custom images.

ok upon comparing the old version with new i can see nothing wrong with the old tool background as well as the resins, thread, cloth, dyes, animal carcases, etc etc etc all looked and worked fine so why change.
problem was only with silk and most may be able to live with this change if it was only the silks changed as was the original complaint.
so my opinion would be change everything but silks back and leave only silks black and maybe antialiasing may look better too or better yet would be my opinion of option B as above and only for silks change everything else back
