I bet that is the compass of the forlorn needed to get into the Ridge Mountains?

The compass is needed to go to various zones: Redwood Forest; Endless Canyon; Pit of Eternity; Ridge Mtns. The heart is required to go further according to the zones that are currently accessible. Frozen Volcano, for example, may or may not be accessible from Ridge Mtns and may or may not require the heart...
