its not true with 33% resources. almost every stone maker has been making INT stones this way. Dest has been taking advantage of this "minor exploit" for over a year now. he should have 5 tc's taken away not given to him lol.

Actually this only arose tonight while I was talking to Dest and he asked why I was buying a ****load of tier 26 resources instead of using 2 sets of lower tiers combined. Seeing the costs of raising enchanting at higher lvls I imagine others have been using the same technique. BTW I think there are around 6/7 people who can make +30s now, maybe more.

since when do you get awarded for using a so called "minor exploit" and not reporting it till you have leveled everything with the "minor expoit" geeee hmmmm. wtf? whats your workmanship at dest? im glad you could get full use of it and then mention it after you were finished. i dont know if its the fact that you used it then mentioned it or the fact you got rewarded for using the exploit to its full potental that piss's me off the most.

This is ridiculous. This so-called "exploit" has been known and used by everyone in the game with even a few points in the enchanting skill, and wasn't even considered an exploit by most - and then Dest reports it after using it for over a year, gets 5 TCs, and cripples every other enchanter in the game who isn't already maxed out on skill? If it ain't broke, don't fix it; or if you're going to fix it, then fix every enchanter in the game too and reset them all to 0 skill.

I have to voice a strong disapproval of this patch.
To explain what really happened here to people who do not enchant
When used in an enchanting rod, spider silk can give int, pst or mre.
Two silks could result in the following combinations:
+int - pst
+int -mre
+pst -int
+pst -mre
+mre -int
+mre - pst
It was also possible to get the following combinations which resulted in a blank stone that could be used to wipe out enchantments.:
+int -int
+mre -mre
+pst -pst
My reasons for disagreeing with this patch
(1) As people have already mentioned, this update is not fair to those of us who are working on raising our enchanting currently. There are people who have leveled enchanting using spider silk and are now making + 30 stones while the rest of us will now be forced to spend a lot more gold to level up our enchanting.
(2) How it will affect the price of int stones
There is a reason spider silk is so cheap. It is very abundant and is relatively easy to acquire. In turn, int stones were also cheap because they could be made relatively easily using spider silk. This update will increase the price of int stones and make them rarer and more expensive.
(3) This is not really an exploit, plain and simple.
Raising enchanting was never easy even with spider silk. The enchanter had to go through the trouble of collecting enough spider silk and making enough enchanting stones [not to mention the rested time that was used up].
Artistry, crafting and resourcing skills are hard enough to level as it is even without the effect of this update.
Plus, if someone was making enchanting stones to sell, they would still have to go through the trouble of getting the right combination. The most desirable combo is + int - mre in my opinion and as you can see there is a 1/9 chance of getting a +int - mre stone when using two spider silks.
The only problem that I see here [that seems to bother some people] is that silks are very cheap. All this update does is make it more expensive to raise enchanting.
A suggestion
Revert to the original version with the following alteration: whenever two materials, like spider silks result in a blank stone, make it so that the user gets no enchanting xp [a blank stone could be considered grey for everybody with a 4 or higher in enchanting]. This way, 1 out of 3 times, the silk user would get no xp whatsoever.
Even a 1/3rd xp penalty is harsh but it is better than the current version in my opinion.

i agree with the last post completely. blank stone = 0 xp. and we can go back to using silks like before. also take 5 tc's back from dest. he doesnt deserve it

Wow, talk about fixing something that ain't broke!
So if the supposed exploit is getting a little experience from silks, why not just make it so you don't get experience? Seems a lot better than messing with a large part of the economy in this game.

TOTALLY agree with you.
I think this is hardly an exploit....
at this point, 33% resources have no reasons to exist

I'll repost here what I posted on the other thread:
EDIT:My enchanting level is now 78 (1 exp till 79), I untrained the points I got using an unfair method. =)
Fyi, I don't give a crap what other people may think. I had a goal to untrain the experience I got from level 79 if it really did turn out to be a bug from the beginning when I posted this, and seeing as how this is the case, I have fulfilled my goal. Peace.

HAHA. Whiners will be whiners. Real enchanters will simply delevel their enchanting level down to what it was before they ever used the bugged method. If they choose not to,then it is obvious that they value exp over proper game play.
Don't be jealous of the timecards, don't hate the update, don't whine. Change your gameplay, adjust, and invest more time into skilling the proper way.
Good fix, farewell crappy enchanters who don't know how to properly adjust/enchant

im sure the method has been used farther then just those levels. you never answered. whats your workmanship at? and i call bs on "i was gona untrain it" why go so far with it. why not post it right away? maybe when you first thought of it. instead of "i been wondering if this was a bug for a long time" yeah you dont care what anyone thinks lol.
