Prices will most likely not be lowered. In fact, there was a time during beta when you could expect to get a max of like 6 gold per chest. And that was a rare event indeed. The prices are reasonable in that everything is not just given to you. You have to work for what you want, and plan it in advance. Another factor-You will never be able to upgrade all your equipment every level, so you need to think about which equipment you want to get when, and just suck up the idea of having lower equipment until you are able to purchase the items you have planned for.
Here's a tip though-you can start all 3 quests at once, and work on them all simultaneously. Quests are a great source of gold if you are diligent with them, and update them immediately upon finishing one.
Perhaps the best solution that i can think of though, is simply to subscribe. That is the best way to get an advantage in this game, Besides, your subscription puts food on Jeffs table, which keeps him happy, which also in turn makes us happy, so just go ahead and do it, and quit asking for fairness. Besides, have you not read the storyline of this game? You expect to be treated fairly in a world like Nodiatis? You are in for a rude awakening, my friend.
