Default Critical strikes

Critical (implying you hit a critical area) strikes should not do less than max damage+1. While this may require some balance chances such as decreased maximum critical damage or less chance to score a critical, I feel it would be overly beneficial to the game play.

well from in my opnion i dont see a need for it too change as the high damage crits are easy to get if you make sure you weapons skill is the same or higher then the enemy lvl

I do not think that that is true... If you have a damage 1-16 ability/weapon there's a lot of chance that it's going to hit for less than 16 on a critical. In my opinion a critical strike is something you should really feel, not just a bonus to damage. Not to mention the absurdness of getting a critical strike of 2. What did you critically hit? his fingernail?

Personally I think a critical hit is hitting a vital part of the body, ie the head, neck, or stomache area(soft flesh!), meaning if you do a grazing hit for 1 damage on the shoulder, if you hit him in the neck the exact same way, it does more damage cause its a vital part, but then again your only grazing it so its not going to be ALOT of damage ...

This is a good point. Though I still feel it would add something to the game to have critical hits work in a way other than "a hit that did a damage plus a multiplier" Honestly, who's going to enjoy seeing a flashing number that is just their normal damage range?

Personally, I think archer damage is sick enough without making their crits to a minimum of max damage+1.

But if you're talking about melee crits then sure, boost em. It still won't get even half as close to an archer's damage but it will help.
