Not to answer for Glitchless, but the game has a certain design philosophy. The world feels big because it's never easy to get somewhere, there are no teleports or fast travel service to go from one side of the world to the other instantly. Items don't magically move themselves from one town to another -- If you put your silk in Stronhad, it stays in Stronhad until you go get it. It's intentionally difficult, because that's the intended feel of the game.
