Default Is Cnc the only thing that prevents resists?

Is Cnc the only thing that prevents resists? Or do other items come into factor like player level, mob level, gem level, etc?

Sherman you are wrong, Cnc (concetration) is the one that prevents your enemies to resist spells, and i dont think there is anything else that would decrease chance of resists, but i could be wrong

ofcourse, your lvl and lvl of mob has affect too, if you fight white/yellow, mobs shouldnt resist much if you have enough cnc

Thanks Sexyy.

So you're saying that if I am fighting a level 20 mob and I level, but don't increase my Cnc, My resist rate against that lvl 20 mob would improve just because my level is higher?

Yes -- in PvE, level plays an enormous factor in your chance to hit with anything, not just gems.
A couple more things to bear in mind:
  1. Bosses have a greater resistance than a mob of the same level.
  2. There are some skills that will help increase your chances of landing a gem, but they are few & far between:
    - Aggravation (lvl 20+ skill) affects Taunt gems;
    - Tunnel Vision (new lvl 80+ skill) affects all gems for staff-wielders.

Player lvl vs mob lvl will determine your hit/miss and damage with gems.
Your skills (red magic, black, green etc) will also affect your damage and hit/miss ratio.

Not quite, Cappie. Those skills are a Direct Damage Gem's equivalent to Weaponry skills (ie Crushing, Slashing, Piercing, Staves, etc). If we were referring solely to DD gems, you would be right that they have some effect on damage, but there is no indication that they influence your chance to land a gem.

If we were referring to any thing gem that does not inflict direct damage, (ie DoT, Taunt, Daze, etc), those skills serve only two purposes:
  1. To determine which level of gems you can cast.
  2. To slightly reduce the casting cost of gems of the respective color.
