Retreat Gem slot and additional gem pouches

Default Retreat Gem slot and additional gem pouches

Since everyone dedicates one gem pouch for retreat why not add native mechanism for retreating instead of wasting this gem pouch? I suggest at combat screen near gem slot from which gems pop up add retreat gem slot. You can switch between gem pop up slot and gem retreat slot like you switch between melee and ranged auto attack buttons. Of course activating retreat gem slot will remove all gems from play and new gems stop pop up from pop up gem slot.

Using the way suggested above we can get one more gem pouch for another special purpose. But 3 gem pouches are still not enough. Developed high level player need at least 5 gem pouches:
1. Regular farming pouch
2. Black mobs/bosses fight pouch
3. Restoration pouch
4. PvP pouch
5. PKK pouch
So would be nice if new pouch was unlocked every 20 levels of Wizardry skill. This would allow 5 pouches at lvl 80. Also every next pouch has one less gem slot then previous: 50,49,48,47,46 respectively.

The fact that you are limited with your gem pouches means that you need to make choices. Which is a concept i prefer above the 'having it all' concept. Technically i could use a 4th and 5th backpack as well ...

I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE REST OF WHAT HE POSTED, BUT I DO THINK THAT IT SHOULDN'T TAKE A FEAT OF MAGIC TO RUN AWAY. ALL WE NEED IS AN EXTRA BUTTON, FOR RUNNING.

the gem pouches and slots are a part of the strategy to the game. i believe they are fine the way they are.

PKK might was well be be a Pkk/Clan War pouch since you'll need anti-escapes both ways.

for once i agree with facebeater it requiring magic to run away is kinda (for lack of a better word) stupid

anyone else, just pass over what facebeater is saying, and not pay attention, cause his text is annoying? or is it just me?

Yes, this is a fantasy game in a fantasy world with fantasy rules...

However, basic mechanics still have to be taken into consideration. If you and I were in a swordfight, and I wanted to break contact and run, how would I do that?
Keep in mind that I would only be running if I knew I couldn't beat you, and/or I was hurt so badly, that I needed to get away...

- I couldn't run backwards/sideways faster than you can run normally.
- If I simply turn and run, then you have a clear, unblockable shot at my side and back.
- If I pushed you back, you would still get a shot as I finished turning (lunge at my exposed back).
There are too many variables involved in PvE/PvP knockdowns to go into more detail here with ranged, polearms, creature size, tentacles, etc.

Since there are already gem spells in the game (stun, daze & mesmerize) that don't apply to the mechanics of Flee/Escape, something has to happen that gives you plenty of time to get out of sight, but isn't so powerful that your opponent couldn't defend itself.

So, where does that leave us?
- If you are physically capable of incapacitating your opponent, why would you want to escape when you could deliver a killing blow?
- It seems logical that it would take some kind of spell to "discourage" the opponent from attacking/chasing you.

Severe nausea?
State of euphoria?
Apathy?

I believe that the "spell" aspect is just too logical, but that it wasn't "fleshed out" very well during game creation.

As for more gem pouches, I agree with others that effective gem selection should be the priority.

I CAN UNDERSTAND THE IDEA OF YOUR OPPONENT GETTING A FREE SHOT AT YOU, SO WHY CAN'T THAT BE PART OF THE RUN AWAY BUTTON? AN ESSENTIAL 2 SECOND STUN. AND AS FOR BREAKING AWAY AND RUNNING, THAT WOULD BE REPRESENTED BY MAKING YOUR ESCAPE CHANCE BASED ON A DEX/AGI COMBINATION. IF YOU COULD CAST A SPELL TO MAKE YOUR OPPONENT NOT WANT TO ATTACK YOU, USING THE RUN GEM, WHY WOULD ANYONE ONLY SETTLE TO USE IT TO RUN AWAY?

dude lay off the caps and orange text.... but that does make some sense if you can incompacitate an opponent with a gem why wouldnt u use that to finish them off... give them a free hit and let you escape sounds fair enough to me... and admin PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make facebeater change his posting text
