Creature AI and Taunting

[Glitchless]

Creatures in Nodiatis are not as stupid as in other games. They are far more likely to target the weaker players in a group. Because of this you need to have your tank utilize taunt gems. Taunt and Retaunt can be bought at Castille for a mere 10 gold. Use them wisely and don't build characters that can't take any punishment, you're going to get hit whether you like it or not.

I was wondering why my tank never gets attacked first before i taunt.. because its the "weakest" of all of them.. he is lowest lvl and everything...
Why is this? I'm not worried .. because all my chars can take damage pretty well except my Druid and priest.. which i'm working on right now :P lol fixing suiting lvl :P

Ohh btw... When Glitchless says the mobs are smart.... he isnt lying...
Newt attacked my dps and i was taking damage like nothing... i was doing perfect.. not worried.. then all the sudden it switched targets.. to my weakest player.. my priest =[ i was healing and i taunted with my tank because i was finnaly in trouble.. then after the taunt was over .... it swithed not to my priest but back to my dps.. which had low hp because i wasnt healing him anymore.. then after i retaunted and healed my priest and dps.. it attacked my priest again.. They were all lvl 3's so it was a long drawn out fight... but i won.. So careful while playing.. the Enemies in this game are smarter then you'd think :P
I just wish i knew how they decided which person to attack first so i can plan for it :P or be ready .. anyone have any ideas how they choose ? They never attack my lowest lvl.. the tank.. do they go by gear maybe?

it seems random. i will party with people like 4 or 5 levels below me. and about 1 out of every 7 fights it attacks me and not them.
and then i was partying with Style. and i made a comment on the mobs going after him instead of me. for 4 fights in a row. and then they were back to attacking me again.
it seems random. like they assign a number between 1 and 20 to each char. roll a dice. the closest char is the one that gets hit. and that it randomly rerolls at various points in the fight.
(if you get that analogy)

Weird.. Jeff/Glitchless says it attacks weakest.. but i'm not seeing that happen =[ maybe its weakest compared to something else.. i mean like a certain stat that is lowest and it goes for that or something.. idk Someone will find out the pattern if there is one :P if not.. oh well i guess Thank god for healers :P lol Or i'd die alot.. and Rez PWNS :P i havnt even got to use it yet thou lol

well the more difficult the enemies are the mroe fun you can have and then it makes you also need to pay attention unless your only fighting greens and teals they are pretty much the only creatures you can take it easy on

Weakest lvl? Weakest armor AC? Weakest what??
Because my lowest lvl never gets attacked first.. thats my tank.. it has 90 something AC but my higher lvls get attacked the ones with less armor... So the question Weakest what? lol

was weakest based on ac and dur i beleive, now the mobs are smarter. i hope that answered your question antwon09
