Default Watching Duels

Today in civil, we got onto the subject of duels, and the idea was put forward of being able to watch duels.

Would this be at all possible ever?

If it were, would an arena be made for spectator duels? possibly making it so any person who wishes to duel someone else gets transported to this arena and people can watch if they choose.

This would also help the problem of traveling to duel people.

Here is a Quote from the TODO list iv bold & underlined what i belive is already a Duel Spectating update in the works.

"Here is a list of things that will definitely be added to the game over time. It's a good idea to check this list before submitting ideas to make sure your specific idea is not already planned:

-Epic Damage Gems (Coming August 14th)
-The ability to change your chat color
-Class specific combat skills
-Public player profile pages
-Consumable Combat Buff Potions
-Public clan profile pages
-Many more skills
-Many more gems
-Downloadable version of the client w/ graphics pack
-Offline auctioning
-Spectating others' combat
-Periodic Random Competitive Quests
-Monthly competitions with real cash prizes. These competitions will likely involve 1v1 and 3v3 combat. Also considering a form of clan warfare where clans will compete in brawls of up to 30 vs 30 players."

There's a to do list? Interesting how no one in civil mentioned it this morning then.

And if you actually read it Rain's you would see there are two ideas, the second being an arena which players can get transported to too have duels regardless of where they are on the map.

Unfortunately, this is a pretty common issue I have with new players in general: They rely too heavily on the 'expertise' of other players in public chat.
I would highly recommend taking some time to browse the forums & test things out for yourself as much as possible.

My reasoning is in my signature.

Erm... Am I missing something? Where does the ToDo list say anything about teleportation?!?!

Ah. Apparently I misread your first comment. Please forgive my ignorance.

For the record, I've found that the Glitchless team is generally anti-teleportation.

Interesting how they have gate potions and recalls then, plus an effectively ticket to Castille for the lazy.

But it is only an idea, I just find I'm too far away from somewhere to duel someone is all, and I know others sometimes feel the same way, and besides if there was an arena it would make spectating more atmospheric if that's the right word.

Agreed. The recall potion was an awesome -- and warmly welcomed -- surprise when it was introduced. The seer stab is useful for certain cases, and for low levels, but it becomes highly inefficient later on as a means of transportation.

Can't wait for the ability to spy... Umm, I mean spectate... on other players' fights.

Stick to spy, at least then your telling the truth :P.

But all the transportation would have to be is to the arena and back.

We'll see. I don't have anything against it. If some other form of teleportation does get introduced, you can be sure I'll be looking for a way to exploit it.
