Default PK event!

this is in an attempt to create some pk fun.

the basic premise of the event is this:

-players can go pk during this event and have different pk rules:
---1) players can go pk, but they get an event item when they do. a pk with this event item cannot be permanently killed by non-pk's during the event.
---2) if a pk with an event item kills another pk with an event item, he automatically loots any event items they were carrying in addition to the normal 1 stack loot (event items can only be carried in backpack, and do stack)
---3) when the loser pk loses the item, he loses:

-rest time equal to his/her level
-pk status, and the ability to pk for the rest of the event
-pride

---4) at the end of the event, the player with the most event items wins something (each event item can be worth a certain amount of points, maybe depending on the loser's level or total xp. it could be just one winner, or any player with x amount of event items, whatever sounds fair.


maybe it could last a week...or less depending on how people feel

but=== i dont wana waste RT on this stuff when battling.

could it be that you are instantly healed after a fight and if you die, you remain in the same spot, with 1 hr immune.

yeah there will be people that dont like pk's running around. but this would serve to teach people that pk's arent that bad anyway, and how to deal with them. people would learn how to escape when being hunted, putting valuables in storage, open a gate, etc.

it would encourage more players to pay and play more. this game's only adrenaline rush is pk...and many players never even do it because you risk so much and it usually ends way to fast. but its so much fun, and i think a lot of the players would use a timecard to make their character able to participate in the event.

duels definitely dont do it for me since there is no incentive, and pk'ing with your main is basically throwing everything away unless you are at the top and feeling lucky &/or just dont care if you get killed (and most do care)

also, events are also something that keeps players from getting bored. they get people interested in the game, and once you make it, you can easily repeat it later on when theres a lull in activity. in the mean time, people will be working hard to prepare for the next one

Rewards scaled on to how many victories the winning PK has would be one thing.

Also, the event should last 5 days, and all PK rules apply, except for the permadeath.

Not only would that make chat quieter for 5 days, but also make farming more of a challenge.

DM just isnt the same...theres no thrill, running, hiding or chasing targets down.

im sure theres people that share your view,so maybe it could be made so it only lasts like 2-3 hours each night. or 2 hours, 3 times a day until event ends, to satisfy different time zones.

this way, people can play normally who dont want to participate, and players can decide when theyre on for what they want to do.

the players participating would lose pk status, except during those times. all else would be normal.

The simpler the rules, the better, and the less it intrudes on those not interested, the better.

Hmmmm. Maybe there could be a period when anyone can attack anyone, and you leave the event as soon as you're killed? And anyone PKed during the event is autoressed? When you either die or when the event ends, you could get bonus money proportional to your level, (10 + how many rested minutes you spend during the event), and, say, (10 + the sum of the levels of the people that you kill). Maybe put a cap on how low you can kill below your level, too. I don't know. Your score for the event could be some kind of function of your prize money and your level, with the top scorers winning something or other.

Maybe you could get a new ticket into the event 24 hours after death each time, so that it's an individual thing and we're not seeing a surge of everyone rejoining at once every time.

Ok, maybe that's kind of complicated. But basically, even a level 1 could step outside, get killed instantly, and then wake up with 100 gold. Maybe it would have to be paids only to prevent farming. Maybe if you're not allowed to attack anyone under 5 or 10 or something, that would make it hard to anyone to farm extensively.

I don't know. I can easily see this leading to organized in-clan farming to make rune money or something. Maybe I don't actually have a good idea at all. Hmmm. I don't know, it seems any kind of PK free-for-all opens the gates up for cooperation somehow. Maybe if you can only PK within a few levels for the event, that would prevent people from seeking protection from high-level players. I don't know, this sounds trickier the more I think about it.
