Default Unarmed combat

Currently, unarmed combat is poorly explained, and unlikely to be of any use to anyone. The wiki doesn't seem to have anything to say about it, either. How is damage determined? Am I correct in assuming that your fist is a crushing weapon? This should be explained somewhere.

However, what if there were an obligatory monk class, just like any other RPG? They could be like a weak magic class, except with a bonus to unarmed damage and/or critical rate, and they could train in dual-wield at level 1 (but only be allowed to dual-wield fists), and with each unarmed or staff hit, there could be a chance of making another free unarmed attack that instead counts as piercing and/or slashing, thanks to their ki or whatever. It might be tricky to balance it out or make damage rules or whatever.

Ah, thanks. Maybe I should move this over there, then.

Or not. These are primarily suggestions, while the other is mostly Q&A... though it's a little short on answers.
