Default default selection

When signing back in after a game reboot or for first time during day u have to select the I am over 13 notice even for existing players. Could this just defalut to automatically b on for an existing character. I can understand if u have just created a new charcter and the need to agree to this, but again and again for existing players is a little annoying.

They likely can't for legal reasons. If it were default to checked it's possible they could get sued because they didn't realize it was checked. It shouldn't be the case, but legal matters are something that usually ends up complicating things. Perhaps they could just ensure that there was a checkbox at each and every moment that you could do something that requires >13 legal status.

They could probably do it, but I'm not enough of a lawyer to tell anyone how to fix it.

Once u done it, u need not do it again and again each time upon logon.U have already satisfied the legal reqirements. So it's not a legal thing. I am use to just inputing my username and then my pwd and hitting return and wha lah I am in. As I said it is just annoying.

The first part of this says that you agree to the ToU. Since the ToU could change at any time without notice, it makes sense that you must agree to it every time. (Theoretically reading it first, but how many people actually do that?)

without notice is the key wording here. no other time when I have had to say I agree with a legal (online legal doc) have I had to basically resign it again and again.
It is my choice to read or not once it has been signed one time( to look for changes.)

Anyother MMORPG i play online has some sort of legal thing i have to check at the beginning before logging. You just get used to it. at least it's a tiny little box and not a complete 1 page legal doc everytime.

music and sound could just be a check box in game for each char.

agree with gal about the boxes per character on sound and music

however given the recent issues with someone under age that signed in with parent permmission, and harrasment charges were made, and a big patch was put in over it, in no way shape of form should the check box be made easy because what happens if that underage kid lets thier friend play on thier account, and that friend doesn't have permission or that friend stands behind them and has the mouth off in chat sorry but by that box having to be checked everytime it protects everyone

sorry but imo with that box checked if someone breaks the rules jeff can ban/perma ban/ip ban if the person keeps doing over and over again

to whine about having to check a box is sheer laziness

I do wish the sound and music could be persistant though as others have suggested. The music usually ends up blaring at me when java loads. Not sure quite how the java/javascript interaction works (especially since the sound is actually flash) but I would think it would be possible to have a cookie or two for those settings.
