Default Character alignments

I think it would be interesting to have character alignments as well. The points where these are decided/influenced can greatly vary and the possibilities with how the affect gameplay are endless. Few thoughts and ideas on it:

At character selection when choosing your class you also choose an alignment. Doing this might just be two options as simple as good/evil or something along those lines. With this options certain things are limited depending on your alignment. Skills sets, items, towns/villages possibly.

-or-

Have actions throughout the game influence your alignment to certain "factions." As your "faction points" with any one side increase it opens up doors to different skills/items/other aspects of the game that other sides wouldn't have.

Incorporate quests with this. This is a good way to vary who does what quests. I'm sure there will be quests that all classes do that go along with the storyline but also have quests that each "faction" has you carry out. These can either be side quests or also send you down different branches of the storyline.

That was one thing I always hated about WoW, with every alt I advanced I had to re-run the same faction stuff to get the things I needed for the characters. Not a huge fan of it.

I've never played any of those so if there are similarities in what I posted rest assured that it was not intentional. <sarcasm>I appreciate the feedback though </sarcasm>
