Yeah, I'm really hoping the quests aren't only those mundane "kill 7 polar bears" and such. With the interface the way it is it'll be interesting to see how indepth quests can get. I do think though, even how "basic" certain features of the game might seem, there is still enormous potential for quests.
Story line in game definitely needed. Decker put it quite to the point.
Side quests will almost always have those simple monotonous ones that are boring. Their usual intent is that while you're grinding out xp on mobs you're getting a little something "extra" by completing them.
Quests that not every class/character type gets. I think to offer further incentive to try other classes some quests should follow only certain character types.
