Default Stronhad Expansion

Jeff, Stronhad (or t2) is shaping up to be the commerce Mecca of Nod. I think it would be nice to see a few extra options in town. Something like a storage shed separate to your inventory. A Clan House or Head Quarters, where clan members can store items. This would lead in to Clan Inventory. All this would obviously come at a cost, but something to think about?

i like the idea of clan HQs.
maybe they should hire the local animals to help construct a keep for them?

I like this idea, but I wouldn't want to restrict it to t2.

The obvious benefit is shared resource/artistry/crafting equipment. It would be really nice to stay where you are working and not either lug things to t2 or lug your equipment around. True you can share stuff now, but both parties have to be online (and active) at the same time which kind of detracts from the global nature of the community.

You still would not be able to share SB stuff - nor would you be dumb enough to use it as spare storage as another clan member could steal your gem/armor/weapon/... True, someone could sell an oil boiler, but a) it's not that expensive and b) you wouldn't have it there unless value existed for the clan as a whole so... what would be the point? Besides, if you got caught you'd get black-balled.

Better solution.

It would be like a localized vault that allows a wider variety of objects (but only non-SB). Officers only can put items in the first time, so "replace" would be a different method than "add". Withdrawals would be like a library; you could even leave a note saying person X has withdrawn object Y. The vault could be an optional purchase so fighting only clans could avoid it, while crafters could see the value proposition.

Supported. Additional side effect, if clan HQ's were added to all cities: new method for earning gold. Clans could pay people to ship items from one town to another for the purpose of making the items more likely to sell for a decent price. Example:

Clan has items in their vault in T5. They want five stacks of resources transported to T2 to be auctioned. Officer in T5 takes items from vault, trades them to Player A (hereafter referred to as The Transporter). The Transporter carries the items to T2, trades them to a clan Member there. Member pays The Transporter a predetermined fee for services rendered and puts the items on AH.

If The Transporter has a high enough backpacking skill, enough Decumbrance, and plenty of Item Stacking, this could lead to the ability to carry dozens of stacks - multiple clans could pay this person to carry items.

The idea seems sound enough to me, and the idea of a 'transporter' sounds interesting, but you would have to ensure that you know exactly what was given to ensure you get exactly that back.
