Spare Dust & Tools
since nearly all Trade Skills are available. i was wondering if anyone has come across any tools that i haven't got yet?
has any one been to Roggork yet. would they be willing to give me details or else buy the tools there for me?
only ones so far left to experiment with are
Gemworking = no tools found yet
Potion making = not implemented yet
+40 Skills = will anyone reach this before release
one other thing Jeff when crafting can the enchanting stones be used with a recipe as well.

If I understand your question properly:
When you dismantled an item with shifted stats you get a recipe for the default item with no stats shifted.

didn't see this till after I used my AT up today and I'm camped out at Stronhad now, so I won't be going back to Roggork till tomorrow but I can let you know then if they have anything special (I really can't remember if they have any tools or not... wow) and then you can let me know if you need it, if they have anything that is! Unless someone else is going there before tomorrow

Ah yeah I thought there was something there, but I couldn't think of what tool(s) could be left!

when we dismantle something we get a master recipe.
we create a consumable recipe with the quill pen.
it lists all items required to create the item.
we use the related tool and recipe. can the enchanting stones be inserted when making the replica item.
or would this lead to over powering items

when you create the item its not blank, it still has its stat bonuses. you can put enchantments on all items unless the enchantment is to powerful for the item.

Say an item gives +1 Dur
Then you enchant it with +1 Dur -1 Int, and dismantle it.
The recipe you get, and the item you make will have +1 Dur, and no enchants. If you want to re-enchant it, you can, but the recipe won't take into account the enchants you put on it.
I'm pretty sure that summarizes the questions and answers going on here.

You can craft any store bought or droppable item, then you can shift stats on it once using an enchanting stone. If you use another enchanting stone on it then it's like using the enchanting stone on the default item again, it overwrites the enchanting effects. You cannot add enchanting stones to recipes in order to get double the enchanting effect...
Note that an item with X stats, ie an item with +2 str and +3 dex (5 total for example) can use an echanting stone that shifts X*2 stats ie +10 agi -10 int (10 total for example).
What Camli said is also correct.

I go to Roggork every day pretty much for the adventuring XP, but I've been going there for so long I don't really look at what they have anymore, though I'm sure Annatar is right about them having the gem crafting tool there. I'm on my way there now and I'll bring back one or two with me and have them in the auction house later on.

Gem grindstones are up in auction for flash and anyone else who wants one, as well as arm and leg molds that were at Roggork (wasn't sure if those were available at other towns, so got them just in case). If anyone else needs these items and they're not up just send me a message and I can get them for you

I thought crafting any sort of item you needed a consumable recipe? Dismantle a gem, and then create the consumable recipe from the master recipe you get from dismantling.... Granted, I've never actually crafted anything yet so I could be wrong :P

gemworking is down as artistry not crafting.
not that i am disagreeing with you or anything. just wanted to try and make them with all my mining resources.

oohh I didn't realize that! I see what ya mean now
I guess there are skills in both artistry and crafting that make finished products, as well as skills in both that make crafting items. like how brewing is in crafting
