How about...no. Nodiatis is easy enough as it is. Any class can easily take a mob with equivalent level, as long as the build is right of course. Totally pointless and only useful to further lessen the difficulty of the game. The difficulty of the game is one reason I wanted to do beta testing. Now, I play because it is fun, but I still miss the difficulty. If you are having a tough time, reroll.

You kinda missed my point completely.
I am not talking about something you could use on a regular basis... merely something that happened every once and a while, could even be as you deliver the killing blow...
And you can make this game as hard as you want... just fight 6 levels higher than yourself. That ups the difficulty.

I fight 4-5 levels higher than me and am self-sufficient, higher than that I die. But this killing blow crap, is only another way to easily kill monsters. Even with low chances to activate it, it would still be another way to make the game easier. I see no usefulness in it except some flashy **** that people would use to show off. I say it is a stupid suggestion and holds little help for actually improving gameplay.

Sherman - I really don't give a **** about what you can or can't kill.
This is all to do with how to make more differentiation between classes, not making the game easier.
As for showing off - why not let peeps show off? Check out the screenies thread - that is all about showing off, people like to show off.

I love this idea. Especially the part about the angel thing, you can like...tie blades at the end. That sounds totally kickass.

How is an automatic death not making the game easier? This idea is total BS and not worth the time and effort of Jeff IMHO. As if there is any need for people to show off even more. Besides, I find it quite useless to have a monster automatically killed randomly. It would hinder strategy testing, which something I don't want.

How about a victory flourish/trumpet fanfare AFTER the fight...like in FF, or scripted voice taunts, like 'Fall before me!'(Dark Elf - Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance)..or 'Eat it, b1tch!!'
Has no bearing on the fight whatsoever...

i think sherman is still missing the point.... It's not a instant kill, just a modified last blow. like instead of doing 500 points of damage when the mob had maybe 50 it'd rip it in half or something.... overkill if you would. it has no real bearing on the outcome because you won anyways.

Sherman's point is that these extra graphics that Jeff would have to create would be such a waste of time for him. Why add death animations to all the monsters in the game? I'm sure Jeff's time would be much much more well spent adding to clans.

Gailen please reread his first post, it says a small chance of a one hit kill. That would clearly mean a one hit kill, a mob would die in one hit. I honestly don't know how I can make it any clearer. Please read the posts thoroughly before you let the excrement fall out.
