New Chats

In all fairness to the *coff* gratious *hack* unciv croud, Why do we send the annoying 10 year olds to unciv when they misbehave in civ? Why not add a "spam" channel, and damm them to it for the rest of their existance?? Afetr all, if it wanst for spam and blaintent disreguard of rules, they wouldnt have been banned from civ.
Aside of the spam channel, why not add a forth "help" channel. The N's asking for help would get it, No one would ***** about "stupid questions" takeing up chat, everyone would be happy..... And Jay would have another place to advertise.

That'd be nice. Being new, I really hate asking any questions in that chat box for fear of being too spammy. And when I do participate in a convo, it's hard to keep up in there because it gets pushed away and I lose track of what is going on. So, yeah. >.>

i would suggest soemthing like RWK has... if you spam a certain amount of times you get auto squelched... or banned

I think it's unfair to civil. If they aren't acceptable in civil why push them to uncivil? Thats more punishing uncivil than it is the offender. I fail to see how that makes them learn anything.

No talk tuesdays have been ended early. The experiment was to see if chat was detrimental to new player retention since new players have a tendency to ask silly questions and then get frustrated when they are met with silence or insult. The Nodiatis community has proven itself to be a place conducive to welcoming new players into the flock, with most of the self admitted jerks in uncivil. Keep civil a place that welcomes new players with stupid questions and we will never see another No Talk Tuesday again.
