Magic: The Gathering

This title came up in another thread & made me dig out all my old cards to just... well... look at. *sigh*

What was your favorite color / card / combo, etc?

I used Blue / Black -- Doppelgangers, Clones, Djinns & Counterspells plus Sengir Vampires, Bad Moons, and some nasty Black legends.

I also had a 2nd Red all-dragon deck that always got raped by those stupid Protection-filled weenie White decks.

Black/Fallen Empires(don't rofl i loved that set haha).

Team up 4 breeding pit with the Ebon Praetor Avatar and you have a big can of non colour whoop ass tokens. You just need to get them into play and if the Ebon Praetor lives 3 rounds, your opponent dies.

i always had something against non-flyers... guess that's why i hated green...

Ooh... i forgot my 'so-youre-having-a-bad-day' deck:

Howling mine, the library, black vice, ivory tower, copy artifact, ancestral recall, braingeyser, time elemental and a bunch of unsummons, counterspells & power sinks. throw in a couple of millstones for added effect.

It's hours of fun if you can keep sending your enemies' lands back into their hands. lmao!

My favourite card was Hall of Gemstones.

Probably the most underrated card around. For 1/10 of the purchase price of a "city in a bottle" it did almost the same thing. (city in a bottle: can't cast spells in another players turn, Hall of Gemstones: at the start of your turn, pick a color - all land produces that color).

The great thing about it was the 'surprise factor' with the card. Loved playing this card with a total green deck, then choosing RED and fireballing the opponent.

That set had some brillant cards: All those thralls, and goblin hand grenade comes to mind (can remember so many n00bs playing goblins after that set game out). Some of the other cards were a bit 'meh' though. Loved Wormwood Treefolk though. Awesome.

As a set, Legends was the best. Pity I started just after that set finished up

gotta go with flowstone hellion (3/3 for 5 mana, ability - 0:+1attack, -1def), giant growth/might of the oaks/briar shields/rancor(+3+3,+7+7,enchant:+1+1 - sac enchant to give +3+3 til end of turn, and enchant: +2+0 and trample), and fling (sac a creature to have it deal its attack power 2 target creature/player)!

mine is White/Green Enchantment and wall deck!!!! it stalled u and and made u draw all ur cards or me reach 50 life points....my deck was made to piss off people XD

also had a BAD A (and illegal) burn deck with lightnin bolts, thunderbolts, incinerates, chain lightnings, furnace of rath/fireblast combo.. simply unbeatable except against COP:RED sideboards xD

Lol. i made a deck with 36 lightning bolts, 3 lands & a fork (just to be different) Couldn't figure out why no one would play me... :S

Oh noes! Its Magic...

Eh my fave deck is the artifact/stroke/tinker deck. It was extended legal before cards were banned but even nerfed consistently won third turn. Optimum hand you could win first turn (unbanned version of this deck won consistent 2nd turn).

Lots of voltiac keys, grim monoliths, dynamos, strokes, tinker, some artifact lands, upheaval to reset the match.

Oh yeah the good old days.

Oh and Domain! Rice Snack forever!

Don't think it would win any championships, but by far my most fun with MtG was with a blue/white flight deck. Serra Angels with (can't remember the card name, maybe spirit link? but was a creature enchantment that gave you life equal to dmg dealt by a creature)/Moat/with Stasis for the lock. Was such fun to toss out Stasis and watch it sink in rofl.

LOL - just reminded me of this 1.5 tournament deck I made - with thallids! It kicked butt. Everyone didn't know why I was using them, so they used all their spells in destroying them. I just counted the lightning bolts and fireballs used up, in the meantime, drop a shed-load of forest as fast as possible, then cast: Thelonite Druid: tap, 1G, all your for forests are now 2/3 creatures. Attack with 18 of them at once. Byebye.

Reminded me as I got out a 2nd turn force of nature against that kind of statis deck, with a instil energy on it & hit him first turn. If he couldn't kill it by round 4, I'd be on 4 life, and he would be on -2. He gave up that one.

ur thallid deck sounds crappy
