Option to donate to clan

I am not sure if this was discussed on the forum, I am at work and don't have the time to check, but it might be a nice idea for members of a clan to have the option to donate to the rune chest in addition to clan tax. I, for one, think this would be a great idea for those of us that have an abundance, or overabundance, of gold and would not mind donating hundreds of thousands into the rune chest.

I second that...especially for those clans which don't want to impose a high tax on all members.

I disagree with this completly right now rune power is for bragging rights and then for runes but it will also still be for bragging rights and that takes the fairness out of working for it I mean sure I could buy 25 timecards and sell them all for 55k and then Donate all that gold to the clan runebank which would give my clan an almost impossible lead to catch up for for the people that are not able to buy bulk timecards which makes it completly unfair. AND it would stop some people from ever contributing to the clan rune bank if there is no tax because they are to cheap I know about 5 or 6 people who wouldn't donate any gold to the rune bank because "other people would donate enough"

I see your point sapreaver, and I agree that it could be used to basically buy runes and bragging rights. But, one can already basically buy levels in the game, what is different about this? And, there are players who have a surefit of gold, that they didn't get from TCs...

It should be up to each clan to decide how its members contribute. If a clan does not want to have a tax, and its members are okay with contributing as able (and do) that should certainly not be held against them. Some clans will have to tax to get any gold, some will get an abundance of offerings from members....this is why clan make up, operations, and leadership are so important. Different strokes for different clans--I don't think it should be a one-size-fits-all proposition.

This is already built into the current system interface but not yet implemented. It's called Purchase Rune Power and it will offer a means of acquiring Rune Power without direct taxes. Only Veterans and above can do this however to prevent clan leaders from pressuring new members into paying for membership.

Thanks Jeff! I think this is a good idea, and for our clan, will be highly beneficial.
