Default DPS thoughts and discoverys.

So, I was a bit bored today, and decided to make out the forumla for DPS and DPS with skills of 100 in all, I made the formula for Archers, Melee DWers and Melee 2Hers.

I calculated a 52 Slasher DWer's DPS was 20 per weapon 40 total.
I calculated a 53 2H slasher got a DPS of 22,3
I calculated a 59 Crusher DWer's DPS was 23, per weapon, 46 total.
I calculated a 64 Piercer DWer's DPS was 23,6
I calculated a 69 staff users DPS was 22,6
I calculated a 75 rare bow and arrow DPS was 28,25.

Ofcourse this is all without skills. I emagin that the discount in speed from low level DW evens that out a little. But. Lets say we all have skills of 100.

52 Slash DPS became 112,42
53 2H Slash DPS became 87.5
59 Crusher DPS became 134.
64 piercer DPS became 123.
69 staff DPS became 92.
75 Bow and arrow DPS became 68.5.

WTH? His DPS is twice of mine? Not to mention he has 10% chanse of 4 secconnd stun and 2x 25% chanse of 2 seccond stuns !
Staffs arn't looking good in raw DPS, but after the skills kicks in it starts looking good.

I have taken all currently excisting skills in consideration, and using now excisting weapons.
And I wonder, how the hell can it be such a large difference?

I'm currently waiting for someone to present me with some 2H stats (71 2H crusher) to see how well it fairs comprared to our friends the Dual Wielders.

PS: A slight note on Crushing. Thier Extra ability, as I call it, is a stun skill, and can't be properly converted to damage, that's why it seams crushing has lower DPS then the others.

Gonna post raw DPS, with and without 100 in skill. (just for easy to read)

53 2H slash: 22,3
59 crush: 23
64 Piercer: 23,6
69 Staff: 22,6
71 Crush 22,6
71 2H Crush 28,4
75 Bow: 28,25


With 100 in skills.

53: 87,5
59: 134
64: 123
69: 92
71: 131,8 (1H)
71: 115,6 (2H)
75: 68,5

How are you calculating Ambush for opening damage? Or Vengeful Shot for reactive damage? Or Arrow Rain for AoE PvP damage?

And how is a DW Crusher starting at 23 DPS going to 134 with max skills and yet a DW Pierce at 23.6 DPS going to 177 with max skills? Something isn't right with your calculations.

Formula: (((max+min)+(max+min))/2)/(delay/10) = DPS*

The extra skills adding more damage are a mess to give an exact % admitedly, and I don't count ambush towards the real DPS, since it only works on first hit.

I've given Vengful as a 25 % bonus (should really be less since it is a trigger effect).

I've not added Arrowrain since it's purly PvP and not PvE

Piercer has some skills adding bonuses in ways crushers don't get, hence whey they increase faster, going to check the again so I didn't missclick in calculator.

Piercer: Good catch on that one Jeff, I've miss-clicked in the calculator =P changed

* The seccond (max+min) is only for Archers who always uses two damage components, melee should only use one (max+min)

Jeff could solve this whole problem by rating weapons as:

Hits Hard

Harder

Beyond Hard.

Shiney.

Glowey.

That's all normal people care about anyway.
