TC drop ...
The topic about missing out an epic due to disconnect reminds me to an idea I had a while ago:
Every 24 hour there is 1 Time Card that drops in the game. If it makes sense it might be limited to N's and to the first 20 areas in the game.
It would be fun to see who the lucky bastard is, and it might turn some players - that would never become 'customers' - into hardcore players as they get a whole new game experience, by being lucky.

A lovely idea!
Since Talllica's hasnt been online for awhile, his adoption agency kind of stopped.
I would love to see this suggestion implemented for N's only.
But it has to be dropped from killing a monster (no lvl requirement), otherwise people would be creating millions of N accounts and having them sit whole day at town waiting for it (like some do for golden showers).

Personally I think this would be a great idea. My only suggestion would be for the tc be a bit less often. Maybe once every 48 hours. I have thought about paying, but unsure if it would be worth it, a sort of trial would definately help me make my mind.

24 hours would be effective, posted in global chat of course. or perhaps just every 100K clicks, so more drop during busier times.
kinda like beats in rwk. only harder to get.

I agree with this! The more people you can give a "taste" to, the more likely you are to get them hooked, it's a fantastic way to get more players involved.

To further limit abuse, how about every 100k clicks up to a maximum of 3 TCs per 24 hour period? That would be completely random, would get people to play more, and might even get more active people. Jeff might even be able to find some people to help him code and get work done faster. XD

Mini-Necro Bump!
Edit: Deleted old content... Better idea:
For every $250 spent on the game, a single TC is given to a random N currently online.
This means that no matter how many people play the game, buy it or play for free, the game isn't going to lose money. For every 1000 bucks the game makes, it gives 20 back. That's 2% - not too bad; as already mentioned above, it's essentially drawing people further into the game.
Also, if the reward is in the form of a TC, it allows players to control when exactly they upgrade. If you win an automatic upgrade just before going on holidays or before a big week in the office, it could go to waste. Just a thought. Maybe even allow the unlocking of Virtues and such.

Well Solikos at the time, there wasn't too many people actually playing. Now however, there are more. So yes, the less often the TC drop the better. However, Menage would like this suggestion because with less people wanting the TCs, the TC prices would drop. But let's keep it moderate, about once a week or a .05% chance per 100,000 clicks. Something like that would keep it very rare, and even if someone spammed clicks it would take a very long time to get a TC. CLARIFICATION, the 100,000 clicks would be for each player, NOT 100,000 clicks for all of the community. If Jeff would prefer one for the community instead, a .005% chance per 1,000,000,000,000 clicks would be appropriate. Note: that is a .005% chance per one trillion clicks, with all of Nodiatis playing that would take a while to reach. We want it to be completely random to make sure no one can efficiently abuse this system. There will be abusers, but they would merely be wasting their time, those people would merely be clicking for hours, if not days, on end. If this is implemented, we may want to consider it for only clicks from players with RT or RRT and only from ONE ACCOUNT PER IP ADDRESS. This would be to prevent abuse from alts.
Another way to do this would be .05% chance per 1,000,000,000 clicks from the Ns and a .005% chance per 1,000,000,000 clicks from the paid accounts. The reason is simple, paid accounts have the ability to use TCs to add 6 hours of RT/RRT to the account and allow for more clicking.
For those of you who wish to complain, 1,000,000,000 clicks over the course of a day is nothing, the average Nodiatis could click up to 1,000 or more times by just traveling and killing. The Nodiatis who uses crafting could average up to 1,750 per day, if that is all they do. Now, for those who are mages and crafters, that travel and hunt, would be around 5,000+. Note: Gem movement and clicking is considered clicking and then crafting would add even more. So throughout the course of a day, it wouldn't be hard to reach.
Jeff could perhaps implement a click counter, and over the course of a week, he would record the number of clicks per day. After a week we would average the clicks and come up with a possible formula to determine a safe and agreeable formula for dropping. Or Jeff could come up with one all on his own and leave us out of the formula.
Remember, this is to help Ns get a taste of being paid without taking weeks and weeks getting 50k+ gold. Also, Paids getting a chance for a TC drop isn't necessary, but it would be an incentive to keep playing and clicking.
