AnimateDream's suggestions
I have several suggestions to make the game more enjoyable.
1. A "take all" button to speed up looting. Clicking and dragging several individual items grows tiresome rather quickly.
2. Speed up movement between tiles and the zoom sequence when loading battles. I'm not sure if some of the actions in the game are delayed to put less stress on the servers or network, but anything that repetitious should be as fast as possible. I'm sure even trimming a tenth of a second off of all of these delays will be a very noticeable improvement. I would much rather see the rested time get nerfed than spread out time in the game with a slow interface.
3. Utilize widely known irc commands in chat, or at least post chat commands somewhere visible.
4. Personally I think the economy would be more interesting if you create caps on the number of items people can create, enchant, harvest etc. each day, and ease up on the skill level requirements. Those caps could also be raised through skills, and a trade off between quantity and quality could be called into play as well. Forgive me if this should have gone into a separate post in your skills thread.
5. Production speed. If you want to smelt 50 ores or spin 20 spools of thread you should be able to do it in bulk. Even producing them individually I don't see the point in waiting around for the duration of crafting. If its an issue of how much rested time it should consume just subtract the amount from the timer.
6. Unpredictability. I haven't forayed too far into the game yet but from what I've seen so far a lot of time is spent fighting the same couple enemies in each area and getting the same items. There should be exceptions to every pattern to catch players off guard and keep them from lulling into disinterest. I know the game is still not in a very mature state and right focus might be on testing new ideas not pumping out content.
Well that's all for now. I don't mean to sound negative. I love a lot of the clever and creative concepts I've seen in this game, and look forward to seeing what the future holds for Nodiatis.
By the way, I have a bit of game design experience, I've worked with c++, php, and java, and I can sign an NDA if you guys are looking for a bit of help.
