If from those 750 people, 1/3 is doing arena in solo or group queue, then there will be a lot of players / teams to generate fights.
Having live information about the queues (people/teams staying in queue) will help you decide which queue you want to join.
Of course there will be dead times for solo or group queues, but at least more people will be involved in arena due to having this option: solo or group queues.
@Glitchless: if you keep records on arena participation from previous solo queue and group queue arena seasons, please do a cross check to see which toons are doing both, solo only, group only and the number of fights that they made.
Or make this information public in order to create some stats with actual numbers.
The happy path of an individual during his play time will be:
1) login, check for premade arena buddies, none of them online: enter solo queue (increase persisted arena bonus, a lot of people are doing arena just for this ...)
2) buddies have logged in (enter group queue) stay in group queue (+10% flat arena bonus while in queue) burn rrt and fight other teams
3) buddies left, back to solo queue or quit for the day.
Having both solo and group queue, will eliminate the need of sharing accounts in order to fight in arena, thus less drama due to account sharing ...
|
Please chose this option or a variation of it running 2x consecutive arenas. 2v2 premade and 3v3 random would be wonderful.

DO NOT multiply by 1+slow% to get your new delay. 1*1.4 is not the same as 1/0.6 and your answer will be wrong.

No I mean the idea of having anon opponents/teammates has been and will continue to be an issue for throwing.

It's simple really :
Anon is friendly for trolls and AFK'ers
Non - anon is friendly for people who like to manipulate outcome of arena
Since there is more toon sharers/manipulators than trolls obviously anon is better choice and we just had non anon.
It's easy to avoid accusation of throwing . You can fight normally but delay that CA , shatter wrong gem etc. Or simply briefly change suits Noone will notice..
For me all toons strongly opposing anon are suspicious (do not mistake with those who simply prefer it.

Yes. Like I've been saying, my only opposition to Solo Queue Anon is the issue of people being able to throw.
I think automatically joining a group with your teammates when you enter arena in solo queue, in order to facilitate better communication, would be a great addition as well.

Huggles's point is that if you are identifying people in anon seasons by their gear, it makes it much easier to change your gear and lose on purpose without it being obvious of who you are or that you are purposefully losing.
The plan now is to have a Solo Queue 3v3 arena with anonymity only for people under 2500 rating.

Im not sure how you can think that being able to ACTUALLY SEE who the person is thats throwing the match is worse then some anon person that you cant know if they are just an idiot, a nub or they are throwing the match.
If you think that its easy to throw a match and no one will notice... just lol.. It is EXTREMELY easy to tell when someone throws a match. Which makes it all the worse when its obvious someone is throwing a match but gets to hide behind an anonymous face and reporting them does nothing.

Thank you for answering. Solo Q non anon is fine with most I think. Are u considering adding 2v2 premade running alongside the 3v3 solo q?

I somewhat partially agree with you but this applies to well known players.
At this point Glitchless came up with perfect (imo) solution to not to bother with trolls but focus on serious participants.
Middle ground that should make it fair for everyone
