rip arena
sad to see how weak arena is now. ratings haven't changed in 3 months really aside from norm actively queueing to a nearly unobtainable lead. and a couple teams like ex reforming.
compared to last season's top 10 with

this season we got
tank/heal/a dps who is far weaker than the last melee champion. (i love you nibs but neme is #1 melee in the game to me =o)

melee/melee/healer
a joke of a team with a bunch of mediocre toons.
we got my dear soxson. who i love. but is far from deserving of 5th place.
darklord's team. who is rather lazy to not be ranked higher.
thorin's inactive team.
redeye's inactive team.
a triple dps team qq (and not 3 top tier dpses either)
then an alt triple dps team.
maybe just reading that you don't see the differences. but looking at names and builds. i doubt 3 teams in current top 10 could beat the weakest of last season's top 10. champion will be champion cuz of his consistent queueing for 5 months. woot.

so? in a joke of a season with only 2 teams that can provide any real competition. and one isn't serious while he dodges the other one. hard to lose. and other teams would have higher w/l %s if they didn't temp. his record isn't as undisputed as tops list may make it seem.
2nd place is 2nd place cuz of a silly strategy but at least they're consistent i suppose.3rd place i don't actually know how strong they are. but they're definitely fairly strong. having a 4 time champion and 2 of the strongest toons in the game on it.
4th place is again. a joke of a team that is only in top 10 cuz they queue a lot i guess? or maybe people are too dumb to use drains? hell. that's another matter. did everyone forget drains exist? i admit drains prolly won't help vs 2nd place. and there are a whopping 5 healers this season. but afaik one of those healers lacks anti drain staff. so drains should directly wipe out half of this top 10 with ease.
5th place we got one of the weakest tanks in top 10 history. with a decent dps and mediocre healer. but at least they got a proper team.
6th is again not serious. but decent team if they tried. also lack a healer so srsly. drains. then just kill the non regeners qq
7th is fairly inactive but last time i fought thorin...he wasn't that hard to beat. maybe he improved since but...
8th. tis dd. easily countered numerous times. but he's prolly in the right spot rn tbh.
9th. we literally got 1 good toon. an alt. and a friend. all 3 dpses. who made it to top 10 >_>
10th. we got 3 alts. with again, no anti drain ability.
tl;dr this prolly comes off as a rant or something? idk. i'll reread later and perhaps edit but i doubt it. it's mostly just a sigh at how dead arena is. and that these casual and weak teams are easily making top 10. i normally say there isn't a top 10 each season. there is a top 7 and 3 lucky people. this season. i can't even say that. becoming champion isn't anything to be proud of anymore. it's just accumulation of sacrificed weekends.
