Whip Preference - BM

In the pve world of beastmasters, the helkok seems to reign supreme. I currently have 2x T2 Helkok whips. My question is: would 1x Helkok and 1x Lick of Death be a viable build? The added multi attack and 10% chance to hit (at T1) make an enormous difference, especially when fighting mobs 5+ levels above you.

I agree that the % damage and % haste bonuses are amazing, but neither of these help if you miss. LoD not only helps you hit more, but adds chance of hitting multiple times (especially when combined with a thraki bow).

Looking for thought provoking discussion about this combination. In consideration, see Demonkiller's build (1x LoD / 1x kok) and Davross' build (2x kok but Zirc sleeves).

Helkok and LoD as a combination used to be done all the time, but eventually
it faded out when people realized that helkok's were getting a whopping 4% DPS per uptier. Hit chance is valued, and is a toss-up, but once you T3-T5 your helkoks you will notice a serious damage increase, and won't really care much about the misses because of how fast your pets attack and the massive damage they do.

That being said, if you hate missing with a passion, you could pair up a helkok with a LoD for (multi-attack +hit chance 10%) , An Albino rattler whip for hit chance (10%), or boulderling whip (15%), or if you are feeling ballsy in PVP to buy a whip that helps in avoiding blocks/parries you could go angel hair, but most people are not willing to XD

tier 1 helkok is pretty subpar though. it needs uptiers, and it actually one of the worst whips at tier 1

haste = more attacks = more chances to hit. 12% haste means 1 in every 8.33 attacks you get a free attack. lod's 10% hit = 1 in 10 attacks will hit. now. lod sounds better here. but that's t1. lod gets decent uptier at t2. so it's viable. but t3 lod's uptier drops like a stone. while kok stays strong til t6. if you only plan to have a t1-t2 bm for eternity. can go 1 lod or 2. not a huge difference

if you plan to go t4/5/6/7/8. all bow to the kok.

sad to see no love for boulder whip here.
