Wink New P V P preview

Introduction :

Here I'll present some of my thoughts regarding Nodiatis PVP system .

I carefully read posts, was paying attention to civil chats and came with raw idea of introducing new system that in theory should work for everyone .

Note this is short version of it, so people can get idea what is all about and at the same time have a chance to make it to end of this post.

Important: titles , values and calculations are for illustrative purposes and subject to change .

So lets keep it as short as possible :


Philosophy :


My system at the beginning was different, but over time some changes was made to make is more Nodiatis style and use some of old mechanics to make it easier to code (eventually), yet it can be upgraded/extended if needed.

This unique system covers competitive 3 vs 3 , 2 vs 2 , 1 vs 1 friendly duels and even hardcore 1 vs 2 and 1 vs 3.



Get started:

To enter *tournament name here* you need to be in a clan with minimum soldier rank.

Proposed entry level is 20 and 100k entry fee , in addition your character need to have paid status.


Structure:

PP = progression points
SP = spending points
R1 ? R8 = ranks you will be getting by achieving next ?level? in pvp. We will use titles such : rookie, apprentice , neophyte , master , transcendent or whatever title sounds good ? those still be determined.
For now lets stick to Rx style.

By winning pvp combats you will be getting PP , once you accumulated set amount you will be required to be victorious against player with same or higher rank to grant you higher rank.

PP will vary (I decided to skip math at this point ? if there is interest in it I'll post formula here or send it to Glitchless as there is possibility values might be kept hidden for mystery purposes)
Obviously slaying lower rank will get you less PP (or none if gap is more than 4 between ranks) while slaying skilled combatant will yield more .

At the same time (similar to arena) you might loose some PP while defeated by players up to 3 ranks higher than you . Also a point will be taken away if you decline combat (forfeit) but we will get there.

If your PP drop below required level ? you will be demoted to lower rank (it will be wise to have some extra). Also ranks 5-8 will have small daily decay so you would need stay active to maintain your rank.

SP will be granted at top of your PP to be used on variety of things including tempers.
Higher ranks will receive extra PP and SP as level of competition increases


Combat:

There is 2 main category : friendly duels and bloody style (name can be changed again ....)

Duels:

you can offer registered duel to anyone outside town and have combat with full consequences , however refusing will not carry any penalties.

Bloody style :

This is the core of the system:
Lets say you choose ?enter tournament? and you will be teleport to new zone (arena or completely new place)
Once you choose so, you can be duel and refusing will carry penalties .

You can keep fighting till you loose , then you will be kicked out . You may re-enter after Guerilla Warfare cool down is over .

Upon arrival you will see bunch of people : also teams of 2 and 3 will be outlined .

You may only challenge equal or greater number of players . So solo can fight anything while you don't need to be worry to be jumped by group of 3. Team of 2 can challenge team of 2 or 3 and so on .

as for PP , SP avg rank of group x number of players will be distributed among winning team .

Also you cannot be jumped by player 5 ranks or higher (after a while a groups will be developed so people with similar skills will fight each other) yet if you believe you can take on guy on top you can go for it but if you loose you still will loose 1 PP even gap between your tier is big.

Lets call it Battle:

you can talk in it once you in tournament and see system messages such :

Soxon: Stormy your teh weak !
Stormwizard: Bring it you puss !

*Stormwizard defeated Soxon*.

*Stormwizard achieved rank of (R2 name here)

Its straight forward and you have general idea...

Reward system:

Here there is few options :

Rank based or point based .
I would prefer SP option as it will reward heavy participants that work hard rather that super op char go to the top and chill there with min activity

However R1-R8 could have passive bonus such active exp , increased hot zones bonuses etc

SP can be used to temper without rank however being higher rank will get you required amount faster .

Also optional SP can be used for DAILY bonuses such :

x SP will buy you 10% double drop for rest of the day
y SP will get you 20% gold from chest for rest of the day
z SP will let you craft 2 skills beyond you capabilities for the rest of the day

SP had to be used wisely as there is many ways of spending them and once you spend it on daily bonuses you will have to grind for them next day.

I'll stop here to prevent it from being too long (original is 7 pages longer)

Let me know (honestly) what you think of it and feel free to suggest or point issues with this system.

Worst case scenario if there is only 2 people willing to battle there will be 15 min cool down between fights (at max skill) but I believe there will be 10+ people all the time that willing to battle.

If the idea will have positive reaction and/or thumbs up from Glitch , we can continue to work on details , rewards and reveal math /formulas and detailed mechanics.

Hi, I'd like to create a new, really complicated system for pvp. Will require loads and loads of coding, and people will still whine about it.

Too long, too complicated - and you say your original 'draft' proposal is seven pages long, which you condensed down into this one.

Yes but mostly due numbers , brackets, formulas and examples.

I understand it's lot of work but some of coding is already at Jeff's possession and if he decided it's worth it , he will do it.

After all game itself took a lots of work and hot zones itself it's not something you can take care of at commercial break.

Fighting is already there - it's about to add something to it as result.

Besides it will feel good for players to walk around with bad-ass tittle and rub it into someones else face bragging about your *******.

Nothing is condemned till Glitchless say so.
