Make seasons shorter PLOX

Been suggested many times by many people. Not sure if it's gonna happen honestly. Unless of course everyone keeps posting about it.

LG is NOT the only reason.

Strong teams can rake tokens quickly and with rating they accumulate even faster.

Weaker teams or let's say fairly new players without top gear and skills , need a chance and TIME to accumulate tokens.

Constantly loosing or occasionally win for 3 tokens takes very long time to accumulate enough for tempers.

As long there is no pve tempers - short seasons are really bad idea.

Arena is for everyone not just top 20-30 teams who would quickly rake tokens/rating , collect TCS and reward and get ready for next season .

I personally find 5-6 months seasons perfect. There is time to improve and work on strategy. Also casual players have time to collect enough tokens to temper.


In nutshell : I oppose short seasons unless pve tempers are introduced.

Short seasons = strong gets quickly stronger and mediocre toons have not enough time to keep up, which will create even bigger gap between players.

Short season would benefit top 10% players but hurt other 90%.

A simple solution would be for glitch to increase rating and token gain each match in a shortened arena season. I support shorter season cause I each season I try and get involved with arena, I end up losing interest at some point, which is happening to me right now *watches my rating fall once more as I log in*

There's no need to keep reiterated the desire for shorter arena seasons. It's as obvious as wanting more epic drops, more epic beasts, more LG spawns, free pizza, etc.

4 months is the minimum season length. If we shortened duration we would need to reduce the value of the prizes as well, and we don't wish to do that. Just asking for more, more, more, might be in vogue, but we don't believe acquiescing to those requests makes for a better game. Any bonuses we do give are done in a careful and measured manner such as Hot Zones. Which just came out. Yesterday.

Our focus should remain on new content, which we believe the 2017 Most Wanted List shows. Making the existing content easier or faster just isn't a goal of ours.

Well... technically people are not asking for more here They are asking for LESS time in an arena season

And with that one aside, shorter seasons with lower rewards may seem like a better idea now, but like Joanna said, it would hurt low/mid level toons that don't have the time to get 10-20 wins per season against OP caps. 4 months would be great, 5 months would be doable, 6 months would be OMG PLEASE DONT, but it would be nice to know at the beginning of the season it's exact duration. Like next season starts (presumably) Jan 28. When season starts you could also announce when it ends, rush week and all that, so that people can prepare accordingly.

For instance this season rush was (for me personally) a horrendous timing. BUT had I known that this will happen and rush would be some time in January, I could have planned around that. If it's not too much to do, please look into letting us know when season starts and when it ends at the same time.

i want a better pvp experience not the damn lg that is worth a minute amount in comparison to people that have 3 complete lg suits.. or one ridiculous high tiered suit.

its not about what you take out of it in game its about the experience..
but like suggest other suggestions of how we can make it happen because this season has been a drag.
i wanna see more people in the arena!

it may look like we are asking for more more, more, but we really aren't at least me and the other pvp guys aren't.. just want improvements for pvp as well as pve. doesn't have to be in the way of shorter seasons but perhaps to keep it exciting for the duration.

The top 3 teams spend hundreds of millions of gold in preparation for arena, for a prize worth 25-35m in materials. The top 3 can are strong enough that they could farm it all up in 1-2 weeks. First place is mostly competition between a bunch of stubborn people, with the prizes and tempers as an added bonus. The rewards are already a bit light imo. Maybe reduce the TC rewards but keep the LG. Just my 2 cents.

Nobody forces them to do so. If they're that willing to throw 'hundreds of millions' in gold away, then they carry on doing arena. If they don't, then that is their choice, and someone else wins arena.

that's the issue, people do not take part therefore season becomes less interesting until it actually matters for them to q. shorter seasons just seem like more fun.
and no arena is not 'so terrible' has anybody even said a bad thing about arena on this thread? but it has plenty of potential

How about you give us a few shorter arena seasons per year and 1 regular length season? Make the shorter seasons rewards less. Like winner gets 1 known LG weapon of choice or 2 LG armors. Then keep the normal length season rewards the same. Thoughts?
