epic beast is in town

we got a hint about an epic fights one creatures many noses on server....and after an hour and a half nearly...i logged my alt in t1 and found the beast sitting in castille.

...what the hell <_< over an hour of looking for nothing

Its ok, it got all server 1 united for a good cause, like never before we cleared areas and tell each other that it wasnt there.

I have it on a video, is really overwhelming knowing that we can actually help each other for over an hour!

Spending over an hour of my time, to find out you lied to me, yet gave s2 the beast is amazing alright. Everyday you give more reasons not to bliss. There should be some formal apology.

Sisix was pretty pissed off the other day about the Mid-day server reboot unannounced as well. It didn't irritate me off nearly as bad, because it didn't effect me, I just thought " ohh free RRT whatever" but the guy was in the middle of an epic task, and was unsure if when he killed the epic mob that he would get credit for his epic task. He was furious, which I can understand. Not sure if that mid-day server reboot was intentional or not, but he did have a point. We should be informed or warned about it next time, unless its to fix an issue/bug in the game. This was not the case, this was just " internal testing" what the H does that mean? why is this reboot mid-day, not given a warning, and didn't seem to do anything for the game, in terms of fixing, or adding content? isn't "internal testing" the whole purpose of the reboot every single morning for "internal testing"?O.o on a side note, there was an epic beast today, everyone looks for over an hour, and the beast never leaves town. Well aware that you are working a lot to improve the game, but that's two things in just a few days. Not to be rude, but smh.

yea i also agree in the last couple days seems alot of tension in the air with a few issues with resets and now this epic beast no show seems a bit unkind to us nodders, an explanation to why and what happened would suffice and kill my curiosity.

I think there were 2 people supposed to run the beasts. S2 mod did fine but s1 mod may have had a medical emergency or something and was unable carry on the job.

Umbra on s2 says the beast was casting so that suggests a human was controlling it rather than just the game function where when nod is closed and you get forced, you attack.

Personally i hope it was just glitch trolling, and how did it waste your time? Your playing a video game to waste your time, what you choose to waste in on in said game (farming, cbing, arena, chat) is up to you(next time check the common towns if its not found right away before going on a zone by zone search)

If you want to look at it a different way, glitch is human, humans make mistakes. Whining and crying wont change that.

if it was trolling s2 prolly wouldn't have gotten the beast either. he's all about server equality and crap.

normally there is at least some benefit to it. if i'm townwalking i get adventuring exp. if i'm farming trophies and/or gold. arena tokens. cbing territory. chat is amusing at least. it's different when everyone spends an hour and a half with no benefit. there are better ways to waste time than searching for that long for absolutely no reason. i mean hell i was gonna be walking that long either way. but at least adventuring exp would have been given

whining about it won't change the past. the time was still pointlessly wasted, but hopefully there will be something to correct it.
like they say if you make a mess clean it up. at the very least an apology could probably satisfy most of us. (i'd still be annoyed but at least he admitted the mistake and hopefully learns from it so it never happens again)
EDIT: also hopefully a proper epic beast since last one never got fought

there have been probably thousands of beasts by now. and all of them (that i know of) have been found. even ones considered impossible or ones where clue didn't make sense to us. but yeah after this people probably will check t1 from now on since this is the first time it's ever happened afaik.

hell the only reason i logged death was cuz i gave up hunting and was trolling saying it's probably in town.

What happened though? Was it a bot script that failed to run? Mod who had a medical emergency?

A command was thought to have been issued to the server to teleport the beast to it's new location, but apparently it only went through on S2. It was human error.

The reset in question was not done without warning. The player Sisix said "wait a minute" in chat after the yellow text warning, three minutes passed, then another yellow text, then the reset. Is there an actual issue resuming epic tasks after a manual reboot? As far as we know, they should be able to be resumed from where they were left off. You just need to make note of your previous tracking clues in case you lose chat, but you shouldn't even lose chat as long as you allow autorelog to get you back into the game.
