NOD wide TC raffle
Hello all,
We are going to host a NOD-wide TC raffle on 29 May, 2015.
1st prize - 7 TCs
2nd prize - 5 TCs
3rd prize - 3 Tcs
(There will be 5 consolation prizes of 1 TC each, depending on response...will update the status after a week here)
The tickets will have numbers, anybody can buy as many tickets as they want. Me and my alts will not buy any.
The raffle program will be posted beforehand. Anyone can test it. The random number generator will be given a seed (same seed gives same random number every time, seed will be time-stamp of my CPU).
The forum of www.clanplain.webs.com will show ticket numbers. After result seed will be published too for verification.
For tickets, contact Bhasi in-game or alts

500k is still high for 20m+ worth of prizes. It only takes 40 tickets to amount to 20m. Should be at least over 100 tickets to make up 20m. That would make em 200,000g each. I considered entering this raffle but at 500k, i'm like 'oh hell no'. I'd probably purchase a ticket if they were 200k.

It's his 20m to put up. Up to him how many tickets it takes. Can't really complain about the price. You gonna put up 20m and hope that people buy over 100 tickets in 2 weeks or hope for people to buy 40?

The ticket numbers are public, anyone can verify how many tickets sold. At the end, I will give a detail expenditure here. I am not going to keep TCs for me, they will go to N's.
Jackmoe once was trying to get donations for N's. It did not go well. People need incentives to buy tickets, why the prizes are.
I have no way to know if the N's are alts of cap toons. I will just request people to help me distribute the extra to real N's.
Let's see how it comes out.
One more thing, I did not make it less costly, the tickets, on purpose. I am ready to give away the 15 TCs myself if only 3 tickets are sold.
Thanks to people who bought tickets.

Last day for TC-raffle ticket purchase!
Unfortunately I think there will not be any TCs I can offer to N's....sorry that this will probably become a failed attempt :/

I can't find the list of registered members on your site. Where is it located? Also, I don't quite think this was an attempt that was supposed to be successful.

Why do you say that? Looking on his site, he has 20 entries. That's 10m gold. But he is giving out a minimum of 15 TCs, which in today's prices, exceeds 19 million. He's going to take a loss on this unless he can get another 20 entries, today.

This is the program I am going to use for TC raffle..I will post the 3 seeds for 3 awarding positions. After the first draw, 2nd draw will exclude the previously picked ticket number(s). You can run the program with gcc or any other C compiler. Thank you.
#include <stdlib.h>
#include <stdio.h>
int
main(int argc, char *argv[])
{
int j, r, nloops, tickets[20] = {777, 754, 1, 8, 88, 888, 2, 3, 4, 7, 13, 77, 12, 5, 10, 623, 414, 822, 244, 349};
unsigned int seed;
if (argc != 3) {
fprintf(stderr, "Usage: %s <seed> <nloops>\n", argv[0]);
exit(EXIT_FAILURE);
}
seed = atoi(argv[1]);
nloops = atoi(argv[2]);
srand(seed);
for (j = 0; j < nloops; j++) {
r = tickets[rand() % 20];
printf("%d\n", r);
}
exit(EXIT_SUCCESS);
}

Hmm. I did not get your same results. Compiled and ran your program. You did not specify how many loops, so I just used 1. I compiled with "gcc rng.c -o rng". My version of gcc is 4.4.7.
seed 1407346: 414
seed 8962708: 888
seed 2872498: 777
Should we not have gotten the same? And yes, I modified your program to be an array of 24, with the other 4 tickets added in.
Also, when you posted the program, you said that was it. Now there are 4 more?

hello Malc,
The program I reran and got same results. You need to specify the number of loops, which are 24, then 23 then 22 as the tickets numbers are excluded for next run.
Please try it once again. If you find different results, everyone should get a refund. I promise the refund..may take me some time but be assured.
Thank you for supporting my effort!
Best.

And yes, the ticket selling were open till reboot of 29th. So I got 4 more.
Version of GCC should not make any difference to the result.
