Support toons
Support toons have no place in this arena format since it is called solo arena and therefore healers etc. should expect to suck and should just switch to a solo player build. Discuss.

Support builds: Help me help you.
Unfortunately too often we run into people who don't help us help them. Most support builds cannot be flexible enough to support a large number of various builds.
I'm providing a massive resistance aura for the group because of my build? Doesn't matter because they don't have Cnt.
I'm providing a large melee haste aura for the group because of my build? Doesn't matter because they don't melee.
I'm healing so my teammates can stay alive? Doesn't matter because they're so weak they die anyhow.
This new arena system could work if more of the participants were serious about PvP, which they aren't due to low levels and other assorted weak caps being matched with serious players. Then it could be a test of one player's ability to tank when he ends up matched with two casters, even if that player is not usually a tank, or a caster's ability to switch to healer, or a tank's ability to be a DPS when needed. Those all-around team players would be best in arena, but we can't see that because of
1. people who are completely useless and get 1 hit
2. people who are afk
3. people who lose on purpose
4. people who make huge strategic mistakes (like taunting over taunts, not hitting taunt gaps, attacking wrong enemy, etc.)
Unfortunately, the best current strategy, due to the weak people in arena, is to go AOE DD caster (most non-tanks go down quite easily to a single caster) and then switch to DoT for killing tanks. You could also have a healer suit as backup.

For slow effects, use the slow % but as a negative.
Just repeat for multiple effects.
DO NOT multiply by 1+slow% to get your new delay. 1*1.4 is not the same as 1/0.6 and your answer will be wrong.

I think that the solo arena is a very good idea...and i think it is broken for the reasons listed above. I do have a support toon (healer main) and can switch to dots or dd's...but more often then not, it makes not a difference. In a span of 7 fights earlier, 5 of them either had an afk from start player, or the player hit auto-attack and then afk'd...they were fights that the other person and i got it down to 1 person and said person was almost dead when they got a lucky shot in and took out both of us. It makes being a support toon so bloody hard, yet, they "SHOULD" be the best solo arena toons.

I'm not a support toon currently and I'm such a glass cannon I don't survive long enough to be healed, but I certainly don't see much healing at all unless we're very lucky and happen to have a match with a good tank and a good healer both on the same side. Unfortunately, for the most part, I've seen people who are normally healers switch over to dot or dd for the solo arena.

I'm not entirely sure what to expect in this game; every other mmorpg I've played I've always played a support class. Who knows.. guess I'll see if I'll regret it or not! XP
