Arena Throwing

There have been several incidents which I have witnessed of people throwing or attempting to throw matches.

Because everyone is anonymous, we have no idea who it is, so please, give us a way to report our teammates/enemies for either AFKing or intentionally refusing to participate.

The most recent incident involved a caster who simply autoattacked and then did not cast a single gem in a 3 minute fight, just to fool the AFK filter. Right after the match ended, I queued and got a fight almost instantly. The same caster from before was on the other team and was now casting normally.

I believe this is not a case of suddenly going AFK, but an attempt to intentionally lose in order to sabotage the system.

If it's anonymous then they can't coordinate throwing matches in any effective manner.

I know who half the people in arena are because of auras. Most people aren't secretive about them so I can screw people if i choose to throw matches

If anyone is dumb enough to start throwing matches and makes it public, we'll take action just like we have in the past. But due to the volume of matches and the anonymity -- imperfect as it may be -- this arena format is far less vulnerable to match fixing having any real impact on the final outcome of the season. And just because somebody stops casting doesn't necessarily mean they've identified you as their most hated person and decided to sacrifice their own rating just to bring yours down a smidge. They may have just gotten the squirts.

They could've identified a friend on the other team as well, which is quite easy to do.

Are u counting if any regener not play ?

What are the chances that he has to go pee right after hitting autoattack (so he isn't flagged as AFK) and comes back right as the match ends?

This person was throwing the match. I think it more likely they were doing so to boost the rating of a friend on the other team than because they recognised someone on our team they didn't like.

I queued each of my toons a few times to see how different the matchups are. As you can see below, we generally had the same group of people each time, due to the fact that those people all queued at about the same time. Match fixing is possible and I continue to affirm that it is going on to some extent. (I do not in any way say that the people with whom I was recently matched are in any way involved). I am simply saying that you can time it so you're with the same group of people, including your friends whom you can identify and communicate with using VoIP.

There are plenty of times that after an arena match, I get a pm from someone going "good fight"...it is NOT hard to identify people after a certain amount of time based on their auras/gems. How many healers are there. How many people start with Apoc. How many have Rule of Law aura. How many have that anti-regen aura. After an amount of time you can pretty much narrow it down to who you are fighting with or against.
I know that Glitch is trying to make it as anonymous as possible, and he has achieved that to some extent. However, there have been more then a handful of times where I am teamed up with someone who hits the auto-attack button and does nothing else...and the fight immediately after, he is on the other team and fighting. Then 2 fights later back on my team, hits the auto-attack, and then nothing. Do I know exactly who it is? No. Do I know the butt-munch by his aura's? You betcha.

Glitch underestimated how smart some members of his community are ... i'm not part of that group though

so you dont know who it is but yet you know who it is? pocky must be everywhere

rage at them for sucking. like how i always say something in civil when my team mates dont shatter when we would win if they did. in hopes they see it and feel bad about losing knowing its all their fault.

If a player want to throw arena and no one know, then he can make a special equipment set for no armor but use normal pets(polar bear) and normal weapons but differite weapons then his abilities (for example, he can use piercer but his lvl of piercer skills are 0 "zero")

How about if someone has many alts and select queue for all in same time ? Or some play farming and some play arena. Arena starting but player has priorities as gold chests. He can throw arena (not neccesarely he want) but because thropies and gold chests is more important.

Arena 3 vs 3 always can have issues. Here everyone can lose a game in arena but nothing important to lose (more then that he gain 1 token).
But in arena 1 vs 1 never can throw arena because will exit from arena instantly. Unfortunately arena 1 vs 1 is not implemented... yet.
3 vs 3 arena is time loss.
I support 1vs1 arena.

Glitch, I have experience the same events. This isn't right. Please help those of us who fight their hearts out every match even when paired with people we hate, have iggyed and embargoed. Stopping this form of cheating will surely improve the new arena system.
