What was the logic behind having a gold cap?

I know it started at 25m, then moved to 50m.

Is the logic that warranted a gold cap still relevant in the current reality?

I think there are quite a few players now, that a 50m gold cap is quite a hindrance , considering the value of some of the up-tiered items far exceed the existing cap, makes it more complicated that it needs to be for player sales.

I fear that raising the gold cap would incite a rise in TC prices. With more people farming more gold, greedy TC sellers will raise the price just cause the rich toons can afford them.

Might actually cause the tc prices to drop, since ultra-rich players won't be using them to store gold.

Good point daer, they might even sell some of their collection for the gold they need.

Thats exactly what would happen. Thus, making TC's more affordable for newer players.
