BMs farm really fast in N. lake, but so does every other build. After that they start to slow down massively until they're slower than other classes. Trust me, people make fun of me for my redwood boss kill speed (about 5 minutes) and all my bm skills are maxed. As for dotters, they're crappy in pve, perhaps, but cyress sure did alright making gold as a dotter, and they're stupidly op in pvp. It's a tradeoff.

I don't really support nerfing any class, ever. But yes I do agree BMs are too good PvE not to mention how easy and cheap is to make great PvE BM toon with companionship and both spirits and combats being able to use at altar. But it's kind of too late to nerf now especially since, as you said half of toons are BMs. So let's just hope new legendary weapons will make other builds viable. And as for dotters, it's true, they are not that good PvE but, as Daer said, they rock PvP and for that they have to pay their price, that's at least my opinion

Daer, on this topic you are way off the mark. Bm gets comparably stronger and stronger the higher up you farm, and cyress farms fast for a dotter, but he makes gold from all his much faster farming archer/bm alts.

I think the balance between IBM's and dotters is fine. My guess is that most dotters have bm alts. From a business standpoint it works great. More tc's bought to keep multiple toons on at least standard.
BM's don't lag in higher zones. My pit times are from 1:15-2:30 depending on mob level and crits. The tradeoff is dotters kill me almost that fast in PvP. If I didn't hate all the clicking I'd build one but I'm satisfied with the toons I have.

So you basically want your cake AND your ice cream... Pros and cons for types of toons, PvP - Dotters, PvE - BMs. It's been said in every comment thus far.

Does no one read the full thing?
This isn't a BM vs DOtter this is a BM vs all classes. There is no balance in between what is good in PvE, it's either good, or it sucks balls. And for your information if you have the right anti-caster build ( a anti caster pouch), dotters or any caster should be easier to deal with.
You can't tell me a 1h slasher/crusher/piercer or dotter is worth it to get for farming when I could just make BM which skills uses combats/spirits, heals and has insane DPS for barely any cost.
So many BMs have said themselves that this class is OP. So I wonder why so many people choose this one class...
If a game consists of more then one class you should be asking yourself why this is. I haven't seen any OP dualwield toons yet, may that be in PvE or PvP. I don't even know one person that has full lg equipment and actually uses dualwield. I know Rath does, and that's probably about it. But he doesn't play anymore and I don't even know if his build good

You are talking about how unbalanced nod is and people are pointing out that no one class dominates every aspect.... hence balance. Balance is how a weaponmaster uses dots to help his arena team contend for a championship.
I remember when people complained dual wield warriors were to OP. The game changes and people adapt. I do agree that dual wield has been on the down side for a long time.

How is dual wield on the downside?? Every toon that is NOT a caster of some sorts is a 'dual-wielder'

By dual wield I mean weapons that no one uses.. 1h slash, 1h crush, 1h pierce. I haven't seen any build with these weapons in a long time. Most switched to 2h melee or most likely rerolled.

It's probably because there aren't any 1h weapons that are decent enough... Whips, pets, and 2h weapons are the only things dropping from LG beasts. Epics are useless imo

I was dwing lg slashers for a while, rerolled when I noticed a bm with 92 whips and yetis can farm at the same speed with better survivability.

This is exactly what I'm talking about.. Glitch you really need to look into this and do some buffing or nerfing

At least it makes perfect sense...i would much rather be double slashed through the face than be viciously nibbled on the toe by 2 turtles.

The massive overuse of the build doesn't come from how amazingly super op it is, but how easy it is. Yeah, with t3 gear you can farm N. Lake pretty fast, but the reason people go BM is because it's insanely survivable. It's been that way for 5 years and the popularity of the build has waxed and waned depending on how lazy people are.
