Default Houses

Why not houses / apartments? (paid/free)

Apartments: a free player could only have 1 Apartment at a time, have to be in a city, and it could only hold the smaller versions of the storage items listed in the no storage buff thread. You could be evicted if you didn't pay the apartment rent (your stuff there may be kept by the "owner" to cover the final rent, or the items could be put in an impound storage depending on language + bartering skill or whatever the dev's prefer.) Or even just a decay on all the items there eating up low value items first to cover rent until it's empty again.

Houses:
a paid member could put a house anywhere on map, further from a town would equal less "rent"
Can't be Evicted but can be raided, so Defenses like walls and hired Guards to defend. (Guards will leave if not paid) Buying a house in town might be immune to raiding but the "property tax" would be high
A construction skill to build / maintain / upgrade the house/ defenses. Limits on size based on that skill.
Might cover more than one square (work shop square to install your crafting tools, Menagerie for holding pets, (no pets in apartments) ect.)
**POSSIBLY SHOWN ON MAP** (probably need real cash for that)

Both:
Coffers where you can put gold into to cover future rents.
Home potion that works like Gate potion.

This idea can become anything you want it to be. Honestly i don't know how this game doesn't already have houses of some sort...
