best way to get new nodders playing
put a nodiatis commercial on the superbowl in football! (the american game where people ram each other)
suppose there are 300 million people in the USA, if 10% of the population watches the game, then that would be 300,000 people seeing the commercial.
suppose another 10% of those people actually try nod, that would be 30k new players.
suppose another 10% of those people dont quit on the first day of playing, that would be another 3000 new players.
suppose 10% of those become paid, that would 300 new people paying irl money on nodiaits.
if those 300 people only pay $5...
300 x $5 = $1500
suppose they pay a lot more than $5, then the glitchless LCC could pay off lots of bills.
CONS
nodiatis is a small community where everyone knows everyone. new people would ruin that.
the glitchless LCC would have to hire new admins to keep things in order.
if some people dont like the game, then they might tell others "this game sucks. dont play it"
OPINIONS?????????
(i am aware that this commercial is most likely not gonna happen)

Yeah...but if he only has to pay "10%" of the price of the ad he could afford 30% of a lemur. Would even have some spare change for a bucket of deep fried pig wings, some tartan paint and a solar powered torch.

Speaking of Super Bowl ads and math....
You always hear about the extreme prices of Super Bowl ads. I once did a calculation and found that the price per viewer of a Super Bowl ad is about the same as the price per click of a game banner like the one I clicked when I started Nod.

Ok first off.. it's a cool idea but I can't imagine it's affordable. The superbowl already has massive brands competing for those ads because that's all anyone watches superbowl to see. In fact it appears they are 4 million dollars for a 30 second ad.
As far as wrecking the small town feeling of nodiatis. I am not sure I want to know the people I already know on there bar a few anyway so I am not sure I care. I am all for new players coming to crash the ah market and piss the tc sellers off and I would like FRIENDLY faces on nod again since in the current climate we only have oscar the grouch and friends in civil stirring up **** anyway.

Nothing really spreads faster, and cheaper, than social media outlets. If you want to get new people talking, playing and doing anything related to Nodiatis it is up to us just as much as it is up to Glitchless. I don't know much about Glitchless, its operations, staff employed or anything else related to their business operations. Judging by the size and scope of the game, it seems like a 3-4 person operation. Sales seem to be sporadic, you can earn premium content with the use of monetary sources created in the game. All of this adds up to one thing, if you want to see new people in the game, do something about it and spread the word. I know that many of you are pretty damn good at computer related things and some of you may even have your own websites. Why don't you start a post on maybe offering to advertise the game on your blogs, podcasts, peepshows, forums or whatever else you run, that may help out a bit as well, and who knows, if the price is right, Glitchless may purchase some ad time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As far as you are concerned Glitchless, I don't think I have ever seen an ad for the game anywhere, just reviews on sites like MMOhut, etc. We need some new players in here, I rerolled about 5-6 days ago and the game is empty, there are 5-6 people who farm in well known spots and lower level and new players are almost non-existent. In no capacity am I telling you what to do, these are merely suggestions. There are a ton of things you could do draw in new people and keep old ones playing, even on multiple characters, here are a few of them:
1. Resins and dusts - Make these craftable, but take huge amounts of lower tier resources. Maybe newer players can craft them, no huge stack requirements but maybe a level cap on the tier of dust for the people who can make them. Timecard prices are astronomical and newer players cannot afford them, this is turning a lot of people off, you can see it in chat everyday.
2. Lower level LG monsters - Make a lower beast that roams around in the level 5-50 zones, this would create some interest in the lower zones as well generate some interest for new players to earn some money.
Like I said, these are ideas and they will most likely be flamed to death by those wishing to add their two cents. You can all see it though, dwindling numbers, low prices of sale items, high prices of real money purchases and 20 people running 400 characters. We can all choose to do something about it or we can watch it happen, the choice is up to us. If you have gotten this far, your time is valued, appreciated and your feedback would be awesome. Thanks.

Yep alot of us are very tech savy and some have semi strong influences in social media. However lets face it, I am going to say why we don't advertise.
In our REAL life, we really just dont want our friends think we are losers for playing a game. Personally, that is how I feel. I love nodiatis but I never really advertise to things related to irl. I have done alot of recruiting for nodiatis in other games such as league of legends, dota, ect. Because in those other games, you are anonymous AND you meet people interested in games.
But in the real world, I sure hell not gona advertise the fact that I am a otaku(look this word up if you don't watch anime) for video games.

Flame me all you want, but I speak da truth that is often hard to admit, atleast about myself

There definitely used to be online advertising, I only know as that's how I discovered the game, and it worked for me, however I can only assume the cost of the advertising outweighed the extra income from new players joining. I will say that it does take time for the costs to recoup as I and many other new players will start with a free account and will not invest until they can see the true value of the product. Needless to say I and many others appreciate the value of such a product and happily spend disposable income on this game, but it does take time. I think the in game gold price of tcs is of little interest to glitchless as its purely driven by market forces and anything done to artificially control prices to help buyers will just hurt the sellers. Those that buy with in game gold do not make glitchless any money, and increasing the population of players wishing to buy tcs purely with in game gold will not increase the supply of tcs, only the demand. The only way supply will increase is with increasing the numbers of players wishing to purchase tcs with real money. This can be done by either decreasing the cost of a tc (not gonna happen), or by increasing the real and perceived value of a tc to the point where more are willing to buy them. Yes this can be done by increasing the player base (though more so of the adult player base as we just do earn more than kids can), or by making what a tc does more valuable (eg, gives more time/ gives more exp/gold /gives a random gold rush in game upon real money purchase etc. Of course this is an unreliable strategy for obvious reasons. I think the sentiment of this thread is good, but enacting it is complex, risky and whereas we as players can and should be able to affect the content of the game, as you would not like interference on how your business is run, so we as customers should and do not have any place to say how they run their business. I'm sure they would love to have more customers and greater revenue, and already pursue fiesable avenues of doing so.

i know there was online advertisement in the past. i was drawn to nod by one about 4 years ago. i dont see tham anymore. i imagine that all the new players had nod reccomended to them by another person or they found it on a list of MMOs.

I think like posters in internet cafe's would be a good idea. Or in gaming magazines. Lets face it, lots of dorks go into internet cafe's and read those dork magazines. Or even in hardware stores.
