Default Connecting to Nod through a proxy

Ok, so the proxy i have in class (or when on breaks but in general on this campus)

the proxy requires a login to allow internet access to the machine.

i checked java setting, and it has it set to use the same as the defualt browser settings, which my browser has the proxy saved on there, and i have to manually change it so that it is active everytime im on the campus, and then login when i open the browser, which is no problem.

the problem is now when i go to login to nod, the client doesnt even open anymore, a white box appears, which hovers over everything and stops the page from loading further.

how do i set it up, so that java will once again allow me to login to the proxy on this machine, so that i can access nod during breaks??

im using chrome on win 7 64 bit if that changes anything.

any help would be awesome.

cheers

chrome uses the default windows proxy:
type chrome://settings/
navigate to advanced / network / change proxy servers
you'll have to configure a proxy in the internet properties (provided you use windows)

that is my guess what you need to do to get the client started, you still want to configure your proxy in the java control panel

also make sure that java control panel supports your proxy (there are socks and http proxies, some applications have issues running http proxies that require authentication)

alternatively you can use a progam like proxifier, which allows you to specify which applications should be using your proxy and which shouldn't , but that is proprietary software (paid)
