Default obliterator vs thunder eye?

I'm sure this has been discussed, but why does everyone pick obliterator quiver?

By my calculations, which could certainly be wrong,

Thraki Bow base DPD (dmg per delay) is 1.78

1 min, 106 max, 53.5 avg, 30 delay = 1.78

Obliterator

1 min, 166.42 max, 83.71 avg, 30 delay = 2.79

Thunder Eye

1 min, 116.6 max, 58.8 avg, 20.97 delay = 2.80

Seems about the same, but Thunder Eye also has additional stat bonus (~41 with skills), AC bonus, and faster firing speed = more dps procs trigger such as poison/flame, + pvp blind. (although triggers pvp defensive procs more too)

Is the obliterator advantage for increased 1-shot/tri-shot insta kills? If your opening shot is a 1-hit kill, then your delay is not a factor? But for long pve fights thunder eye is the advantage? Not sure, just wondering why I see obliterator far more than anything. Of course it makes sense for a melee that is quickly going to switch after opening shot, but for an archer I'm trying to decide which route to go when my focus is pve dps and chosing a quiver is my missing piece.

They are about the same, with a few exceptions.

In all DPD and DPS calculations you do not account for misses, obliterator quiver is great if you are 1 hitting the mobs (relying on ambush mostly) but once you fail, the Thunder Eye more or less becomes better..

It can also be useful in PvP too, as you can get the edge in terms of arena bonus (you require alot less to 1 hit your opponents) etc etc

A lot of people are entranced by the pretty big numbers and think that is all there is to dps. I would prefer the thunder quiver over the obliterator because a miss with the oblit would hurt like hell and you would wait ages for another hit when compared to a quiver that actually gives haste

I think rogue had the master shared with two others weaponmaster was one i think?

and i love my thunder eye quiver but always wanted to try the obliterator but after the 1st big hit i would guess you would be left waiting while u took incoming damage

Obliterator is a quiver made for strong opening shots (for ex: for non archers), but if you're an archer with a fast bow Thunder Eye is a lot better.
