Scam Attempt

I have been unactive on nodiatis due to looking for a job and playing different games such as SW:TOR. I didn't really need my nodiatis account anymore and I spent so much money on it [Over 150$] and I was hoping to exchange it for currency. This was obviously against the rules, but this is a lot of money that I could use for other things such as college.

Looking at "Evidence" and "Evidence2" you can see the connection between the two accounts, and because the information the level 20 has could of only been obtained though the level 70 that means it is highly probable both accounts share the same owner.

Looking at the "Scam" photos you can see the user trying to sell me a World Of Warcraft account in exchange for my Nodiatis account. They probably lied about the accounts worth anyway.

I am also guilty because I wanted Currency for the trade. Although no trade actually happened, I still feel as if I also broke the rules.

Why report this when I could get banned as well?
Because when I was thirteen I unboxed a Team Fortress 2 unusual hat. It was worth approximately 120$, and a user offered a trade for it using currency. Long story short, they never sent the money and they now possess the hat with less than a 1% chance of getting it per $2.50. This destroyed me, I had spent so much time, money, and effort getting that hat and it was stolen from me. I would rather be banned then someone have to experience what I had.

At least my account died with honor knowing that scamming scum has been stopped?

techinacally ive seen this 1 before but nothign got trade so technically its not a scam or a buy if he. or she wasnt prucahsign with real dollars and u got no $$ yet so its not technically a sale LOL

First and foremost, I want to say that I think you are foolish. No one should ever try to do any trade like this. Sure you may not be exchanging real-world currency, but you are selling your account in exchange for goods. This is implicitly against the same rules that prevent selling accounts.

Regardless of anything else, these types of trades are against the rules because Glitchless cannot provide any protection against a scammer in this scenario. If it was allowed, Glitchless could potentially be liable and we can all understand why he wouldn't want that.

Chances are that you will get scammed. This is the kind of deal that scammers like to make because they can take advantage of the trust you have to place in them to complete such a trade. Please let this be a warning for others. If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is. The game client provides all the tool necessary to facilitate all allowed trade-types.

I feel this quote from Billy Madison does this conversation justice:

Skarner and Adabomb banned. You cannot sell/trade/loan/float/share/lend/etc your account. There are plenty of people who will pretend to be prospective buyers specifically to report you and get you banned.

They were currently owned by the same person. It does not appear that they always were.

I was online when skarner told me he was being scammed.

First off, the scammer approached skarner, not vice versa. The scammer intended to scam off the bat and skarner has never made an effort to sell his account to my knowledge. Also, no purchases of any sort were made, so why is he banned?

Glitch, go look at the chatlogs and see for yourself. Skarner never initiated that conversation.

I hate to use the "victim card" but, that's exactly what is happening.

And if I get reported the person reported is banned for life?

skarner said he wanted currency for the account. mistressofterror/dangerous were offering a WoW account. in my opinion i would say they should be banned considering they were wanting to buy the toon but in the end the toon was never bought.

and if you go messaging people asking to buy their account and they report you im pretty sure you would be the one getting banned unless they mentioned they were wanting to sell the account. not 100% sure on this but im pretty sure thats what would happen.

if you could glitch can you confirm if im right that would be muchly appreciated and possibly help more with the understanding of the ban if there is more reasons besides trying to sell the toon

I think this kid is an idiot for announcing he was trying to sell his account. He should be banned. But I also think the person trying to buy should also be banned. Example: Cop is undercover selling a drug. He arrests when the person admits to trying to buy the drug with money and shows intent on buying. Both accounts / characters should be banned for life. Based on what skarner said when he made this thread...

"I have basically quit the game, and if I am leaving may as well get this scammer banned with me so he cannot scam someone in the future"

Talk about trying to be a hero, but I must agree with skarner. He is not an idiot.
The Scammer needs to be banned. If he isn't banned then I suppose Glitchless promotes scamming?
