Default Combo dot/dd gems

Similar gesm already exsist for healers perhaps we can get something similar for damage?

already suggested that bout 6 months ago + the ranks/names/usage/etc .. i have 100+ gems worked out already and posted bout 7 here in forums

Cool ideas there but i was thinking more like

Flaming fireball
REd magic 100 1-500 dd damage and 500 burn damage

Black ? dd damage and ? disease damage
Not combo of damage and heal ... that would be op

Is all kind of hybrid heals that make use of the multiple skills there are for healing but none for damage ...

I certainly wouldn't use those.
While there are bonuses that add to HEALS, there are no bonuses to GEM DAMAGE.

Thus, a gem that has two effects that HEAL actually gets every benefit to heals it can.

There isn't a single skill in the game that buffs gem damage, and the only few that raise both DD and DoT effects actually does so because it raises all colored gem effects.

If they introduce a skill/item that makes some of the DD or DoT-only skills affect each other, then having gems that do both would be advantageous. Else, no point.

Here it is: "Aura of Torment" - While this gem is active, the Destruction and crit bonuses affect your DoT gems, making them deal 50% more damage when a crit occurs, and has your DD crits forsake the target for up to 35% of the gem's damage over 30 seconds, depending on your Necromancy skill.
- This is only a small idea, that needs much reworking, but you get the general idea. When DD skills affect DoT gems, and vice-versa, the first idea will come to many-a-caster's mind.

what skill affects both instant heals and HoTs? i need to find this

aside from the 60+ conditional ones ofc


imo is a great idea and would open up some hybrid builds obviously as all hybrid builds do would require raising both DD and DoT skills for full benefit but still a very plausible idea

O and perhaps these can even be legendary gems ... that start droping from lg beasts with weapons like u have chance to get a gem with weapon drop of other sorts

Here goes...

RUNES!
Here's a thing that affects all heals, all DoTs, or all DDs, but not both, and it is impossible to "raise all runes" to make them all equal. Even if you make the damage output slightly higher, you'd still split that in half, which would mean you'd need more manergy to keep up if drains were the way you gained it back.

If the damage runes specifically targeted spell damage (instead of "direct damage" vs "DoT"), then the spell damage runes would work.
If the drain runes worked the same way, I'd actually agree.
If you added 3 extra runeslots (one for each drain type), which would be overkill, you'd get a similar effect. Again, read: OVERKILL. Then again, you'd gimp yourself because you could only get two of the damage buffing runes, and both types need two.
