would be cool if there was a "replay" effect potential skill, or a stat skill that cut the timer down on cleanse, those are my ideas at the moment...just because the counters vs. a DoT team are very very few and far between, I agree, something should be put in place for a wider range of builds/team types to counter (potentially) a DoT team.
As is, to counter DD's (specifically AoE's),
there is: Anti-magic gems, high Cnt (raises resist rate AND dmg taken), pets that prevent, blocking (can also deflect blocked DD's back at the attacker), skills such as diabolism, potentially one with nature, impedence, grim resolution, banish light, etc., and finally a resist aura.
To counter DoT's:
Anti-magic gems (will work at the start of a battle, but because impervious doesn't protect from DoT drains, mid-end battle you will not have enough mana/energy to use such gems), high Cnt (only protects by higher resist rate, which most toons is negligible due to the fact that DoT toons have such high CnC), pets that prevent, skills, resist aura, and cleanse (MOST battles 1 time).
Another, IMO better solution, is another aura, somewhere b/t resist auras and impervious, that protects against non-attack drains (HP included), could cut DoT HP damage by a significant percentage, as well as protect against mana/en drains from DoT's, exhaustion, defoliate, mind numbing, etc.
*this could also just potentially slow down the HP/Mana/Energy drains...
