Default Shattering the exclusive "Shatter Club" on W. Halcyon Blvd. Mon-Sat, 9pm-4am

So...Gem shatter is a very exclusive "skill".. or game interfacing technique (whatever u wanna call it)....there are many, many, many In-play gems you cannot shatter...

At first, you were allowed to shatter enemy gems, any gem without any restrictions besides the speed of cooldown and repeated shatters (based on skill level). This is a falsity. Let us just consider the gem field. The visible enemy gem field only shows 6 of the 7 enemy gems that are playable/being played at the moment. The "gem slot" gem is invisible. This still neutral yet playable gem should indeed be viewable to the opposing team, AND shatterable. This is shown by #2 in the screenie.

Secondly, we were able to shatter our own gems, ANY gem; with a simple right-click, our targeted gem in the game is supposed to shatter, yet, just like the previous "#2", our own "gem slot" gem, shown this time by #1, is not shatterable; the only way to get rid of this gem, and potentially speed up gem draws, is to place in the gem field, THEN shatter. This could have very negative consequences, say....you're a BM....low on life, 1 vs 1 on a caster who just apoc'd; 1st gem that comes up is rabid.... do u want to lose your most valuable heals at this moment?... probably not... yet the only way to rush towards the next available choice is to play the gem and have the effects run for a few precious seconds. This #1 NEEDS to be shatterable.

#3 as demonstrated by the screenie are friendly gems.... maybe theyre afk... maybe theyre busy clicking elsewhere (after all, split-seconds can make or break), or maybe you just know better; but after all, you SHOULD be able to shatter friendly gems in field of play...
- There might be 1 concern thou: "i was only trying to target them...not shatter that gem..." Well, you could have it be a right-click into a 1 option menu "shatter xyxyxxy gem", left click option to shatter, or click outside option to close menu. Yes, it takes an extra step, but to assure precision of intention into play, that extra split-second would be worth it....

By the way, I numbered these SHOULD-SHATTERABLE gem slots #1-#3 in hierarchy of importance to add to the game. #1 being a most-imminent needed patch to fix, #3 being a "yes, if all the stars and planets were aligned perfectly, this feature would exist". IMO

Thank You,
Please respond with insight, suggestions, comments, questions, etc. etc.

Sometimes, if u hurry up, can shater wrong gem. Maybe if we can be asked before shatering gems will be more effective. "Yes" or "No" before shatering will be perfect. Take one or two seconds more, but win few minutes while skill recovery.

I think being able to shatter your own draw slot gem would cause more issues than it would solve, same with opponents draw sot gem. It may also create balance issues between classes if all classes can draw gems as fast using deft recovery. The circumstance you mentioned about not wanting to draw a rabid gem while tanking would be annoying, but doesnt come up that often and could be got around by having either rabids in your own different pouch or a team mates pouch; but accidentally left clicking a gem you want would happen far more often. If a safeguard that asked you to confirm shatter was put in, then u may as well just wait til the rabid cycles to another gem. However I do think that you should be able to shatter a team mates gem in the way you would shatter an opponents. I'm not sure why you would want to do this other than if your team mate is afk but being able to certainly wouldnt inhibit any other game play. I am not totally against the first and second shatter idea but would need my concerns addressed before i could support.

I'd like something like "Shatterstorm"
"When you shatter an opponent's gem, there is an up to X% chance that every gem in that slot is shattered on the enemy side"

Or "Lockout"
"When you shatter an enemy's gem, there is an up to X% chance that his gembag becomes locked out for X seconds, making him unable to draw any more gems"
- To this one, add "unless he switches pouches" for even more gambit , though I doubt it could be implemented.

Or again, "Gem Crush"
"When you shatter a gem, that gemslot is locked out for X seconds"

Or "Breaking Spree"
"When you shatter a gem, there is a X% change that gemshatter doesn't go on CD"

Gem shatter could have more uses, agreed, but shattering the draw slot would cause too much drag. Shattering your own draw slot is useless: wait for a new gem to pop up.

Personally I think shatter is fine, but I wouldn't be against adding some specialties to it. I also think grey DD gems should have a small % so shatter a random gem when they land as well, seeing as still...no one uses them(ok there might be 1 person simply trying them out, only to be out-performed by others). Blues get a replay bonus, but are still sub-par, but red/black/green, and now white, are all solid colors and used a lot.

nice idea... it cud also be that all grey dd gems have a chance of casting upto a 90% gem sloth aura for 5 seconds or such. thinking like they can be mind numbing gems.
That way peeps can then exclaim...."Oh damn its a grey dd caster!!! I hate those guys" LOL

Support shattering teammates' gems but against both the others. Your draw slot is not the same as your gem slot IMO technically not in play and shouldn't be shatterable. If you don't like what you draw redo your gem pouch or chalk it up to bad luck because drawing gems is based on luck...yes you can organize your pouch to make it more likely you draw the gems you like or want but in the end which gem you draw is based on luck.
