Default Shield deflects

So maybe I'm late to this train, but it has come to my attention that archers can deflect.... I think archers don't need this as to where thy have the benefits of whips and shields and all that. My idea is that the deflect skill should only be available when using auto-attack. Any suggestions?

For slow effects, use the slow % but as a negative.

Just repeat for multiple effects.

DO NOT multiply by 1+slow% to get your new delay. 1*1.4 is not the same as 1/0.6 and your answer will be wrong.

the block rate is halved to compensate for the ranged use, it really isn't OP since blocking needs str and archers have no other use for str at all so it is generally a neg when stoning so the blocking chance will be minimal but it can still happen

It's still dumb. Imagine this..... you're an archer, you fire your bow have to drop it to pick up shield to block then drop shield to pick bow back up to fire. It's retarded in my opinion.

which is why block rate is halved, also i think it is retarded that people can surive 10 arrows to the eye, i have seen it happen, i think it is also stupid to whip a yeti, weather you have trained it or not, it would still tear you to pieces. also its stupid to have a sharpened steel aura, what did you have before? a blunt sword?

its a game, dont expect it to work out as it should in real life.

Shield goes on left forearm, bow goes in left hand. You can use both realistically. You can't shoot and block at the same time but neither can you really swing a sword properly and block at the same time either. You can however jab at someone from behind your shield but without full effect. There's no doubt a melee weapon is more compatible with a shield, thus the penalty for using a bow and shield but the penalty is realistic. We send out Mike to do LARP research to make sure all our theories hold up in real practice.

yeah it is pretty hard to block well with a shield plus a bow. While I can put on a shield and have the skill to use it, a whip/arch/DoTer like myself can't reasonably make good use out of it thanks to strength stat problems. Most archers would tell you that you are better off with a second whip than a shield, and depending on growl instead of block which does not require stats to make full use of. I would be inclined to agree. If you saw an archer get more out of a shield than the starting testudo on a regular basis, then you saw an archer that made genuine sacrifices in other parts of his build to be able to do so, all at half the rate of a melee user. It really is fine.
