I am in full support towards changing these auras to % so they're actually useful beyond lvl 20, however, I think if they are changed to a %, the numbers need to be reduced somewhat,
perhaps even in half:
Currently:
Rk 9 Thorns - 21 reflected
Rk 9 Reflection - 10 absorb/reflect
Rk 9 Dam Negation - 20 absorb
Best class combo(for all 3 together, specific classes can be better for one single gem) - Pally/Jew, 24% to beneficial auras, 2%(secondary) to all colors.
Palisade - 40% to these gems specifically
Shared Bliss - 25% to bene auras, which these are
So that's:
Throns - 21*1.24*1.02*1.4*1.25 = 46.48
Reflection - 10*1.24*1.02*1.4*1.25 = 22.13
Negation = 20*1.24*1.02*1.4*1.25 = 44.27
I think we can see why if they were changed to %s, that would be op. Keep in mind, they affect the whole group, not just you. Negation and Reflection would stack for 51.03% damage absorb. Now put that on a tank, or a Caster w/angelic...yea
Someone can correct my math if I'm forgetting anything. But let's think, 66-68 damage, when most capped toons are hitting 800-1ks(crits obviously higher, as well as lg's, normal hits/pets a little less), this is currently less than 10% "absorption," and when you still need stoic/imperv/lucid/etc/etc in play...these get tossed out immediately.
They do need to be...better...but not much. If ##s were cut in 1/2, and changed to %, what would happen:
Low levels of these gems would be terrible, simply put, 2% absorption when mobs hit for 20...is still 0. Worse off than before. But high lvls of the gems would be(half of above), giving 23%, 11%, and 22% buffs(~18%, ~9%, and ~17% for non-pally/jew btw), which when at cap, and taking 500+ hits, going for bosses than can hit for 4k+, high end pvp being the same, I feel like they would fit in very well, especially b/c most people would only have 1 of them, due to still wanting other auras out as well. This would fit in better with mitigation armor/shields as well, as just another small % boost, but nothing crazy like 50%, so stacking in nicely imo. However, they would need to be rescaled a little.
Oh, DD'ers might whine a little though about the reflection ones...
