New PVP idea
How about a King of the hill type of game.
Have an item that goes in your inventory and gives you a Bonus to Gold, Exp, Damage, Defence or whatever... pick one or some. Heck there could be 1 for each.
1. Say someone has the item then they cant set it down, cant group and they cant trade it.
2. They will flash blue while they have it letting everyone know they have an item.
3. Anyone or team can force duel on a blue flashing player. The winner gets to take the item only, and only 1 item if the player had more than 1 item.
If a team wins the duel against the blue flashing player then the item will be randomly awarded to 1 team member. the person accepting the item will immediately be dropped from group and their old team will prolly force on them lol.
4. we can call the items Epic Trinkets if a player has an epic trinket for more than say a month then the item will return to epic beast and will be up for grabs there.
Feel free to expand on the idea.

the item could give bonuses the longer one has had it. could make it where the person has the bonus in a certain time frame like the epic beast gold patch is.

Make it so whoever has it cant enter a town. that will it will get passed around a lot and more will be able to benefit from it

Is this meant to be a "player" form of chase the beastie? How are you going to know someone has the item(s)? How are you going to know where that person is on the map? Spend all your time chasing around hoping to step into a square that has a blue flashy?
This actually is kind of an interesting idea, but you need to think through how it would be implemented, and what cues the masses would receive so they'd know to go hunt the person. If this just turned into a "Joesnuffy picked up the special item in North Dred Mountains," with no futher location cues, it would turn into a typical pk hunt, which means few if any players would bother participating. If continuous ques were given, then the person with the special item would probably be found so quickly that possession of the special item would be meaningless.

If it gave 3x trophy drops or gold boost I know where they would be. They would have to be active to get anything from it.
Also more stipulations could be added. One would force the person to farm to be able to keep it. so if they farm they can build up time to keep it in thier inventory. If they dont maintian the requirements then it goes back to the epic beast or a location on the map.
If it was a map location maybe there could be a epic treasure map we could buy in Fa ar and it would tell you at log in that the item was on the map then you could use the treasure map to hunt it down. Maybe the map would make your directional arrows flash to lead you to the player too.
I think some global communications would be needed too.
If the person with the item logs on there is a global announcement.
If the Item gets removed it sould be announced.
Hey here is an idea. lets say you find the player "Blue Flashy" if you force then you get a brief indicator on your directional arrows as to where they went. so if the person escapes north then the north arrow would flash. So you could persue obviously. Also the person should flash if they are in your buddy list like the clan war toons do. so you know if someone has it.

Support. I like it and agree you shouldn't be able to take it into towns. Not sure how you'd fix that that though.

What about level tiers?
Sounds like this will be mostly a cap account feature. Sounds fun though. I doubt anyone would be able to survive solo against multiple groups of people though.

Also about the treasure map. if it were made this would be a cool feature. If a PK suffers perma death and not in pvp combat a protion of their loot/gold is left in a chest at he spot of death and the map can be used to find it.
ie someone dies while red to a mob or residual damage.
